Mini pill users, please do come in. Advice needed

So I started the mini pill after my 6w pp check up. After the first pack, I skipped a week (I couldn't get the script, lots of confusion with insurance and the pharmacy. We were pretty careful.). Anyways, I just started it back up on Friday. Today I had some cramping, mild but noticeable enough that I brought it to MHs attention. As I was folding laundry I felt "wet" and checked my underwear and saw blood (I would say to the amount of two quarters side by side). As I looked closer it looked more like a mixture between brown and red discharge. On my pantyliner it looks brown or maybe dark red, but definitely red when I wipe. Any who, you honestly probably could have gone without the description, but my question to you is- Is it possible I ovulated within that week I was not on the pill? Or could it be the pill causing me to bleed and it's not actually a period? I EBF (with pumping once or twice a day depending on how many bottles dd gets). I know this stupid pill can cause spotting.

ETA: Its a significantly small amount to be considered a full blown period, but its too heavy to be considered light spotting. F this pill!

    I started the mini pill after my 6 week appt as well. I spotted on and off for about 4 more weeks. Some days it was hardly nothing, other days a liner or two was necessary. As to whether or not ovulation was possible, I really don't know. Since you are EBF, and spotting is very common on the mini pill, I wouldn't worry too much about it unless is continues to be heavy.

    I'm on it also. I just spotted also and two days ago I started my period and it was like the flood gates opened up. I mean worse than any other period I've ever had. I don't know what happened I didn't miss a pill or anything.. I think I may be calling the dr tomorrow and see what's going on..

    The minipill doesn't suppress ovulation, it just thickens CM-- so yes you COULD have ovulated. When I did take the MP I bled every day I took it. It's notorious for wonky bleeding. I'd lean toward just random bleeding.

    This is my guess too. I spotted for about 4 days starting on the second day I started taking it the first time. The only thing different is that it look a little longer and I am having cramps. I still think it is random bleeding, but if it gets heavier than I will assume I started my period.

    I had some breakthrough bleeding right when I started the MP.  None since.  Did your supply take a noticeable drop?  That's usually a clear indicator for me.

    I haven't been able to tell. It doesn't seem like it. Dd nurses a lot and it always seems like she is getting milk. Plus I pump about 4 ounces (I could pump more but I stop at 4) whenever I do pump. I'll keep an eye on that too!

    Missing the pill with absolutely cause you to spot. Twice I've taken it a few hours late, and then the next few days will have a half period, like brown/red like you described. Also, I have gotten my real period twice already and I even EBF. :(

    Ah so it's possible. I'm not even spotting. I'm bleeding. Enough to need a pad now. This pill is dumb. I take it at the exact time every night. 11 p.m I have an alarm. I just don't understand why I didn't start bleeding when I was off of the pill. But yes I think it's definitely because I stopped for a week!
