Charlotte Joy was born Saturday, August 9th at 10:23 am. She weighed 7 lbs 3.7 oz, and was 20" long. She is perfect, and has a full head of hair. We are very proud of her!
My induction was very long and rough. It started Thursday night. I had about 2-3 hours of sleep. Friday morning I was 1 1/2 cm, and 50% effaced. I started pitocin at 3pm, and after that I had some uncomfortable contractions. When they checked me at 10 pm I was 2cm and 60% effaced. My water broke at 11pm, and my contractions started to take my breath away. I decided to get an epidural because I was just exhausted and wasn't tolerating the pain. I went to sleep right after, and woke up at 4am. They checked and I was 7 cm. My doctor wanted to check me at 10 am, and I was 10cm and complete. They had me do a couple of practice pushes, and realized she was going to be very quick birth. I pushed 5 times, and she was here :-)
She is a champ at breast feeding, but she lost 12% of her birth weight. I have had to supplement with formula. Yesterday she was weighed and was back to 10.5% loss, so I guess it's working. I'm so happy that she is doing so well. My pregnancy was horrible, but I was able to have her. That makes this last six months so worth it.
