Low blood pressure?

Seems like a lot of moms have higher blood pressure due to being pregnant. I've had really low blood pressure my entire pregnancy though. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Low blood pressure?

  • Mine stays very low. It is not a concern to doctors most times where high bp is

  • Mine is extremely low and pregnancy actually makes it lower.  I think at my last appointment, I was sitting around 85/60 - and that was a little up for me.  My non-pregnant blood pressure is usually around this as well.  My doctor isn't worried, and I am not really either.

  • I have low blood pressure.  I set off the alarms in the hospital every 15 minutes when I was in labor with DS.  Nobody was too concerned.

  • Yes- I have a history of low blood pressure and low blood sugar (my glucose was 68 after drinking the sugar drink and my bp was 80/50 at my last appointment).  I have to remember to eat more frequently and sometimes get light headed from the lower bp, but otherwise, it has not been a concern.  I remember that my bp was higher closer to the end of my first pregnancy so be prepared that yours will creep up a little.

  • If you are not experiencing any symptoms like dizziness or dyspnea, then there is nothing to worry about. In the other hand, high blood pressure is worrying even without any symptoms.

  • It's not a concern of my doctors. I run super low. I was around 60/30 one time, next 70/43. Then I went to hospital because I didn't have any dizziness but just face planted... Now I am instructed to eat every 2 hrs. If she's not worried in not

  • Mine during pregnancy is typically 95/50. Sometimes it makes me light headed, but the docs seem to think it's just fine.

  • Yup. Mine has always been low as well. Mine was 100 over 64 at my appointment today. My midwife has never said it was an issue.

  • Mine has been running lower than normal, and it's dropped a couple of times to the point where I got really clammy and started to pass out. It makes me really sleepy, too. The only good advice I've gotten is to wear compression stockings and make sure I eat regularly, which I already do.

  • Mine is also very low normally and even more so during pregnancy. Also low blood sugar (65 after drinking the drink at one hour test).
