FTM should I be concerned?

First time mom here, 23 weeks and I haven't felt my little girl moved all day. I normally feel her in the mornings and late evenings. Didn't feel her this morning at all. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

  • Try a popsicle!

  • Don't worry. My midwife said it is fine at this stage for LO to have quiet days. Don't worry, she'll kick you plenty in future weeks ;)

Yes it's normal... Movement becomes consistent between 24-28 weeks.

But if you drink something chilly and sweet, (I like trying soda) and lay on your side for a while that might help make her a little more active.
  • Drink some orange juice and lay on your side. This usually gets the kicks going.

  • I would drink something cold and give it a little time. Do you have a doppler?

  • I was freakinh out for two days until I got my ultrasound. Baby was kicking away on the monitor but I wasn't feeling it. Try what the other ladies said.
  • What everyone else said-ice cold drink and lie on your left. Also-don't worry.

  • Had this happen to me at 21 weeks and I was sooo worried. Called the doctor and they had me come in to check the heartbeat which was still strong. She said up until about 28 weeks feeling movement can be inconsistent because they still have a lot of room in there. So even if she's moving you may not always feel it.
She said around 28 weeks is when it would be more cause for concern if I didn't feel her for that long. Call your doc just to be safe though. :)
  • Thanks ladies!
  • I had the same darn thing happen to me!! Didn't feel baby move like he usually does at night yesterday. Literally went to bed depressed. Now that I'm up with a cup of coffee (decaf) and a FiberOne bar, I am on the recliner and relaxing. That's when the kicks started up again. Try eating, drinking and reclining. See if it works! :-)

  • Had the same thing happen to me on Wednesday. ALL day I felt nothing. Usually if I poke at her she moves around, but nothing. Then yesterday she was CRAZY... I think she was just having a growth spurt and sleeping more or something.
