Don't take the test. If you feel the need to POAS (which I totally understand) use a pink dye test or a digi that just says pregnant/not pregnant.

Those week predictor ones are notoriously unreliable.
@Hawkward‌ is wise. Those week estimator tests are not great.

  • Those tests suck! I originally used them to "track my progress" until doctor...well it said one week then a few days later 2-3 and then 3+....then four days later it said 2-3 again!!!!!! Omg!!!! I completely freaked out. I had been on the site and seen the betas they use for estimation and 2-3 was 200-2000 betas so I thought I dipped back. My doctor appointment was the next day and HCG was 6800 so I definitely should have got a 3+ the day before. Those things just cause worry and anxiety. Go to the doctor :)

  • I was going to say take it, on account of me being a crazy person and not thinking it through. I thought "What a great idea, I'm stopping on my way home for one!".

Then I read pp and realized it's crazy. Terrible idea. Don't do it.

  • I agree with pp, don't take it. It will just cause unnecessary stress. I know the 25th seems like forever away but it will be here before you know it!

  • @msmileyface If you can't resist the urge to POAS, I agree with the PP about just getting a pink dye test. WARNING: you're still at risk of freaking out though... there is a possibility that the line(s) won't be as dark as you want them to be. Try to stay calm and wait to see your doctor. I pray for the best for you   ;)

  • don't do it.  i was freaking because i took one of those at 4w2d (should have been the 2-3 range) and it read 1-2.  i'm currently 18w, feeling kicks daily, and heard a good strong HB on the doppler at my appointment yesterday.  today you are pregnant.  step away from the pee stick.

  • By the way, is it normal for your boobs to hurt a lot, and then slightly less?  Maybe I'm just getting used to it?  I'm reading way too much into things, for sure.
Yes, that is perfectly normal.  I'm 17 weeks and the pain has come and gone on a daily basis since the very beginning

  • Thank goodness :)  I'm so glad you said that.  I was literally squeezing my boobs saying, "I don't know, they don't hurt THAT bad.." until you replied.

We've all been there.  For me, it was one of my only 'early pregnancy symptoms' so I got really comfortable squeezing my boobs (to make sure they were still sore) early on in the pregnancy to the point where I got caught doing it in traffic by a stranger!!!  So awkward.  Especially in rush hour.

  • Can you get into your doctor sooner? My doc lets me come in right away as a repeat loss patient. I moved and went to one who wasn't willing to see me and get me started on progesterone so I went onto another one. Remember the doctor does work for YOU. You are paying them and you could take your business anywhere you want to. My current doc sees me weekly to monitor my progress and then will see me biweekly (her choice actually and her suggestion). She adjusts my meds etc based on how things are looking. There is no way I personally could go without medical care for weeks. I have no living children and simply want to do all I can...anyway that's just my two cents on all that.

  • I was just about to run to the store for another week estimator test (I lost two in the first trimester in the past year) but decided to read the boards, thankfully. I'll wait for the first appt. next week. Meanwhile it's great to see im not the only one squeezing my boobs periodically throughout the day!
  • Don't do it. Although those tests always told me what I wanted I know they're notorious for being wrong. I agree with one of the PP's. If you must, get a couple of pink dye tests (I suggest FRER) and see how dark the line is on those.
