What time is bedtime > (MOTN) > waketime?

edited August 2014 in March 2014 Moms
Just curious. I think this is interesting because some people will look at a 12 hour stretch as STTN and others are at like 8hrs... Whats your sleep/wake time and the MOTN duration??? (i'm counting the duration of baby's sleep as MOTN rather than parents bed/wake time within that window)

Bedtime: 8:30 pm
Waketime: 6:30 am
Duration: 10 hours (interrupted)

eta: sorry this wasn't more clear. I meant it more as a what time do you consider it nighttime sleep (with interruptions) as opposed to a nap. Jamie still gets up once but total we are looking for a 10 hr stretch if that makes sense...

Re: What time is bedtime > (MOTN) > waketime?

  • Bedtime btw 6-7pm
    Motn feeding around 12
Up for the day at 7am
So she usually has a 6-5 hr stretch then another 6-7 hr stretch
*sometimes we have a second motn feed between 12 & 7 but it varies
So she is sleeping about 12 hrs at night then we get about three hrs of naps during the day 1 one hour and 1 2 hr.

Not really.. If he was screaming his head off from 8-9 then maybe change it but if he's doing ok, keep at it ;)
True! I'm thinking when I go back to work ... 11 more days :( ... He might go to bed sooner because I'll be waking him up in the AM.

Which reminds me... I gotta do a couple practice runs next week. Eek!

    Bedtime: around 8:30
    No MOTN
    Wake: 7:30
    Duration: 11 hours

Then she's usually awake for an hour and a half and goes back down for a 3 hour nap at 9:00 am.

I've been trying to move bedtime back an hour to 7:30 since when I go back to work on Monday she will need to get up an hour earlier at 6:30. Hasn't happened yet. :-S

    Edit: 5 months (23 weeks).

  • Maybe all these should include LOs age? A couple of weeks can make a big difference... Mine is almost 20 weeks.

    Bedtime: 6pm
MOTN: we removed the clock b/c I was obsessing, but she is up at least 5 times, sometimes more.
    Wake up: 6/7am
  • Bedtime is 8:30, wake up is 8:30 or 9 AM. Sometimes she wakes at 3:30 to eat, but usually sleeps through. She will be 6 months on the 25th.

  • Bed time between 7:00 - 8:00 (sometimes with a dream feed around 11:30.)
MOTN feed: anywhere between 1:30 - 3:30 and then another MOTN feed anytime between 5:30 - 7:00.
She usually falls back asleep for a bit and is up around 8:30.
The longest duration I've ever gotten is 6 hrs and that was only a couple times. Last night I got 4.5hrs! I was happy with that!

Nah, not too late at all. My kid is on the exact same schedule. He even stirs at the same time. I've tried multiple time to put him down earlier. He just ain't having it!

    MOTN Feed between 4am-6am

I suppose he would get up earlier, but I feed him and put him back to sleep anytime before 6am.  I think I'm lucky at this point that he still goes down in the morning...ugh the though of 6am wake time kills me!

We do a late bedtime too or else DH would never see Kinley, especially during marching band.

    Bedtime: 9-10ish
    Awake: 8-9ish

Our motn feeds have been soooo inconsistent lately. It used to be one feeding around 4-5, but in the last couple weeks, we've had some 12-1 wake ups, or nights were shes up 3 times.

Generally, she sleeps a 6-7 stretch then a 3-4 hr stretch.

Wake up time: Around 730am or I wake her at 6:30 on the day I work

So about 10 hours. She doesn't get up for MOTN feeds anymore. Around 4 months she started sleeping all the way through. She's turned 5 months last week.

  • Bedtime: 8 pm usually, give or take 10 min

Wake time: 6:30-7 am. Though on weekdays we often have to get her up at 7. If she's up by then though she will usually just hang out and chat to herself, maybe snooze and suck her hands.

Duration: 11 hours, with 1 chatter wake up btwn 4-5 pm for 20 min or so before she goes back to sleep.

We're super lucky, I know. But she's still an awful napper so I guess it makes up for that ;-)

    Wake-up between 6-6:30

  • Super jelly of all the babes who STTN. DD goes to bed at 7, is up at 10 for a pseudo dreamfeed, up between 1-3 for a cuddle, up at 4 for a snack, then gets up for the day between 6 -7. She was BRIEFLY sleeping from 10:30-5:30 before the 4 month sleep regression kicked in. She'll be 5 months next week, and it's beginning to feel like the forever and always sleep regression.

  • Bedtime: 8:30 PM

    MOTN: 12 midnight

    MOTN: 3 AM

    MOTN: 6 AM

    Waketime: 7 AM

Personally, if she doesn't nurse in the night, after 4 - 5 hours, I'm so uncomfortable, I just lay there in bed waiting for her to wake up, so I'd rather she wake and nurse, and we can both go back to bed!!!! With the MOTN feedings, I hear her tossing in her crib, pick her up and her eyes are still closed, nurse her, and put her back in her crib.

@Kacie FWIW STTN is defined as a baby sleeping for 5 hours continuously.... not even 8 or 12 hours. ;)

  • Wow, so I am totally jealous of the the STTN-ers and feel comforted by so many who are still walking up!  We seem to fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum:

LO is 20 weeks (or 4.5 months).

I have recently started putting her down about 7:30, because the original 8:30 or 9:00 seemed too late and even though she wasn't fussy I think she was overtired.  She wakes up between 5:30 and 7:30 for the day (M - F I have to get her up at 7:00 to go to daycare).

We are almost always up at least once if not twice each night.  I think she has slept straight through on about 7 occasions since she was born.  She always wakes to eat, that's it, and back to sleep.  Usually it's a 3 am wake up, or at 1 and then 4:30 or 5:00.  DH and I alternate nights on who gets up with her and interestingly, its almost always on my night that she gets up twice.  Yay me.

My first was/is a unicorn sleeper - STTN since about 10 weeks, minimum of 10 hours, always.  This one, well, not so much.
