Nursery furniture

I am first time mom. Just wondering if my husband and I buy the nursery furniture or is that something we register for? I am thinking we buy the crib and dresser than register for anything else?

We bought the nursery furniture with our first, because I knew that no one in our family was in a position to buy it for us. I know some friends whose parents bought for them as their gift.

I would add it to your registry anyway- some people like to do a group gift or whatever with the larger items- who knows. Just because it's on your registry doesn't mean they HAVE to buy it, just that that's the one you want.

I'm adding everything and the kitchen sink to the registry because we will get a discount on whatever isn't bought!

I agree with PP. I would add it so you get a discount on the big ticket items on everything left on your registry!

Add it......sometimes people will go in together to get you bigger items.

And if no one does purchase it, then like others have said, you get the discount

My parents bought us the convertable crib and my MIL and SIL each bought us a dresser that matches the set. Obviously I dont expect the same generosity this time around though.
