hcg didn't double- hope? Update at bottom

At 4.5 weeks my hcg went from 89 to 140 in 48hrs. My OB said she's not hopeful since it didn't double. Anyone have experience with numbers like these?

    Mine are exactly those numbers pretty much (88 to 168) and my doc told me it's just fine.  They look for a 60% minimum rise.  I'm going through my fourth round of IVF, and this is the first time I've been told the numbers are good, so I'm going to trust a doc that does this thousands of times a year!

    Me: 35, severe stage 4 endo, chocolate cysts, etc.   DH: 40, perfect in every way.  :)

    Married 2007.  Started TTC 2009.  Diagnosed endo 2010.  2 laproscopic surgeries.  IVF only choice, tubes damaged.

    IVF#1- chemical.  IVF#2 - chemical.  IVF #3 - cancelled due to poor embryo quality.

    IVF # 4 - BFP!  Beta #1: 88.  Beta #2: 168.  Beta #3: 3000.  6 week u/s - HB @113!!

    Did they tell you what your progesterone was at?

    My prog was 8, so that was low too. They started on a supplement. I'm losing hope.

    big hugs to you. I don't want to make you lose hope, but this sounds just like my last Pg, and it was ectopic. That doesn't mean yours is ectopic, or that you will miscarry, but you asked if anyone had experience with similar numbers; this is my personal experience.

    Levels under 1200 are meant to double every 31-72 hrs.... Not exactly 48... Are you having another blood test?

    I'm having another blood test today- another 48 hrs later. I'm really hoping the numbers are better. I'm freaking myself out reading about ectopic pregnancy and how those numbers are low and slow to double. Ugh. By the calculator my numbers doubled in 73.5 hrs which should have doubled by atleast 72 hrs- which I know is close but still outside the limit. :/

    @theresabach‌ I'm the person from that other thread. Earlier this week, my betas had a doubling time of 82 hours. I was completely preparing for the worst. My nurse said sometimes it will turn around, and for now, it did. My next set of betas had a doubling time of 46 hours. I mean, I still haven't had an ultrasound yet (it's too early), so I'm not positive what's going on, but I'm feeling a bit more hopeful.

    9/2014 And now adding hypothyroid to the list- Started synthroid 9/2014
    Cycles 1-4 - Sept.-March- All Anovulatory 
    IUI #1 March/April-  Clomid 50mg + Clomid 100mg +Trigger + IUI #1 = BFN
     IUI #2 April/May-Clomid 100mg + Clomid 150mg + Trigger + IUI #2 + Endometrin=BFN
    IUI #3- June- Follistim 75iu + Trigger + IUI #3  Benched due to a 40 mm cyst. :-(
    IUI #3- July- Follistim 75iu + Trigger + IUI #3 + Endometrin = BFP! on 7/25/14
    Slowly rising betas - Ectopic suspected on 8/8/14 & confirmed on 8/11/14
    Methotrexate on 8/12/14 -HCG negative on 9/2/14
    IVF #1- November- Antagonist protocol: 11/1: start stims, 200iu of Follistim; 11/12 ER 17R/14M/14F; 11/17 5 day transfer of two blasts, 2 blasts and 2 expanding morulas frozen; 11/22 BFP!! (On FRER at 5dp5dt)
    Betas: 9dp5dt 205, 11dp5dt 497, 14dp5dt 1,709
    u/s at 5w0d- 1 sac; u/s at 6w0d 1 baby with heartbeat, another sac without a heartbeat

    I still haven't gotten my results from yesterday. Ugh. But that's hopeful news @lebradford!

    Thanks everyone for well wishes. Started bright red bleeding this morning so I think it's over. Off to research miscarriage...ugh. Thanks for all the support!!
