This is my first, i went into premature labor at 28 weeks they gave me a prescription to stop contractions after it took them 12 hours to get them to stop. I've been having pretty decent contractions for about 2 weeks and 1 of those was regular 10 min apart contractions, my Dr "stretched" me to get things moving faster and the next morning i lost the plug. That was yesterday, the contractions are getting stronger but it seems like when the intensify they start over from 15 mins and work closer together. I'm 38 weeks and the Dr has told me from the beginning that i would deliver around 2 weeks early. Baby dropped 4 weeks ago, how can i get the contractions to come regular and not start over when the intensity picks up?
Re: Waiting game...
I would get rid of your doctor. Barring a medical reason to induce early, this is pretty irresponsible on his part. Let the baby cook.
Babies can drop early, both of mine did. It does not mean that labor is imminent. Be patient :-)
As for him trying to get him to come out, the lil guy has always sized 2 weeks bigger and everything has developed around 2 weeks before it was supposed to. And the Dr is trying to move things along cause apparently he was watching me have contractions while i was in the waiting room at the office and then when he was checking me he felt a contraction and said it was a big one, i was almost all the way effaced but only 1cm. The prescription medicine was apparently keeping me from dilating but not stopping anything else, baby is right on my pelvic bone pretty much and the contractions i was having for a week weren't doing anything but making me miserable, now things are moving along at a very decent pace but like i said when the intensity picks up they start farther apart and get closer together before intensifying again.
