EP Question

How many times a day are you pumping? I was told 8 minimum by the last LC I saw before scrapping my unsuccessful bid to BF. I'm down to 6 now and my supply hasn't dropped.

I'm producing about 50 oz a day and I thought by now my supply would regulate but it hasn't. Any ideas? Do I just cut the pumps to 5? I'm running out of freezer space!

    Damn, I'm jealous. I had a great freezer stash going, but have had to use some this past week as my supply has been dropping. I'm only getting about 20oz a day. I would think you could space out your pumping and go down to 5x daily.

    @Megan43040‌ I just cut back to six so I'm doing 6:30/7 when he wakes up, 9:30, noon, 3, 6 and before bed 9:30/10. I've been on 6 pumps for about a week now. It sucks that he never could latch and nurse properly because the supply is there.

    I've cut down to 4 times a day and get around 30 oz. I was really busy yesterday and only pumped 3 times and still got 26 for the day. I don't pump enough to get a freezer stash, but even when I was pumping 6-8 times a day I would rarely get close to 30 oz. It's only in the past few weeks, since I switched shield sizes that I'm getting the daily amount I do now. I'm sure if I added 2 or 3 pumps back in I would get closer to 40 now, but the schedule I have going now works so well. My LO eats about 32-34 ounces a day, so supplementing with formula for 2-4 ounces a day isn't a big deal for us. I'd rather pump on the schedule I have since it's working.
    50 ounces a day is a amazing! But if you have a good freezer stash I'd say free yourself up and drop a couple of pumps!

    I pump 4-5x a day and still get about 35-40oz. I'm having the same issue, I bought a freezer specifically for BM and it's full. I have 850 oz already.

    If I was still pumping 8x a day, I'd be miserable. In fact, I don't think I've ever pumped 8x a day. Drop some pumps and give yourself a break. Kudos!

    I started pumping every 3-4 hours getting 10 ounces each pump, I am now pumping every 6 hours or so. I pump about 10 - 11 ounces each pump. During growth spurts I pump every 4 hours to make sure that I keep up with her and still am able to stick a bottle in the fridge in order to be frozen.

    Awesome thanks for all the input ladies! My mom flies in to the weekend tomorrow and I'd love not to be chained to my pump. I think tomorrow I'll move to 5 pumps a day. Sweet freedom!
