Sorry you are having to deal with this. How about some cereal & shelf stable milk? They also do a ton of frozen foods (meals) that could last awhile if she has access to a freezer & microwave.

Agreed with all the PPs on food and such- things that don't expire too fast. Protein bars, frozen meals, canned veggies, beans, rice, granola, mac and cheese.
A bag of frozen chicken breasts. Hamburger/patties (portioned out and frozen being the idea).. Then multi-meal type foods. Things that you can plan for leftovers. Rice, Pot Roast, Pork roast... Proteins are usually the least available option at the food shelves if she's in dire need...
Also she could apply for emergency food stamps if that's something she's willing to do. I'm not sure what she would have to do to qualify but you may want to mention it to her. I'm pretty sure if she qualifies they will give her some food stamps at the appointment. Is she off her meds due to no insurance since she lost her job or is she off of them by choice?
