Pregnant after a Loss

Spotting

I am only just pregnant I found out 2 months after we has lost our baby at 20 weeks. So I'm really probably only 4 weeks and I am spotting. I already had implantation bleeding so what can this mean. I am already scared to be pregnant again and now this. Please any advice would be great. Does it mean I'm lacking something or hormones are off? Please help

Re: Spotting

  • Spotting can be totally normal during pregnancy (although it's horrible for PgAL brain!!).  To be safe, please call your doctor.  Do you have a confirmation of pregnancy ultrasound scheduled or are they tracking your betas?  If your u/s is quite a ways off (and it probably is if you're 4 weeks along) you may want to ask for two beta draws to check and make sure that your betas are doubling in 48 hours.  I know it's scary, but spotting is common - call your doctor ((((hugs))))!!!!!

  • I agree with the ladies above. Call your OB. It can be normal, or a sign of something else. There really is no way to know without further investigation.

I am very sorry for your loss. Congrats on your new pregnancy.

  • I don't have anything to add that pp haven't already said, but wanted to send some hugs your way!

  • I went for blood work and they had done a blood test on August 8th and it showed + and I had another done today and it showed very +. I also had blood work to check thyroid and progesterone and I go In and see my ob on Monday. Thanks for all the support and hugs. I need them
  • I would call your doctor. Spotting can be totally normall though. I had it around 6 weeks with this pregnancy and it lasted about 2 weeks. But everything was fine and I will be 37 weeks tomorrow. Hopefully your doctor could get you in for a beta draw which would give you a better picture of whats going on. Sending you (((Hugs))) spotting can be scary.
