Hey, I'm 30weeks 4days pregnant and today and yesterday I have been getting lower abdominal pain just like period pain, some lower back ache but not much, could this be a sign of early labour ? Also I'm at high risk for prem labour Xx
I've had cramping constantly since I found out I was pregnant and recently, lower back pain from either the extra weight or baby's position. Let's hope that's the case for you!
If you are high risk for pre term labor, you need to call your midwife instead of asking us. It kind of sounds normal to me. But We cant say for sure.
This!! Definitely another one of those "call your doctor/midwife!" posts...
It could be growing pains, but especially if you're at risk for PTL, call!! It's what you're supposed to do. You won't look paranoid to them and they shouldn't make you feel silly. You're protecting yours and baby's health.
Thanks for everyone's advice. I don't think they are contractions as it is just stomach ache period pains, I have already had the steroid injections for the baby's lungs a while ago and can't have any more and I have been into hospital so many times throughout this pregnancy so I just want to be sure that next time I go in it is labour. I am not overly concerned just wanted to know wether anyone has experienced this and wether it has came of anything ? Xx
@Danibellis1992 I hope it's nothing. Honestly, though, the best way I can describe contractions is comparing them to period cramps. So it would make me a bit nervous not to call just to ask about it if I was experiencing a new and different symptom that's so much like labor contractions. :-S
And I totally get not wanting to have to go to the hospital unless it's for labor. I hate hospitals. I would prefer not even to have to give birth in one, but that's the best choice for our family and the one we were most comfortable with. ...I get it, but not wanting to get checked out or ignoring anything odd in favor of not going to a hospital until you're in labor sounds like a risky attitude to me.
The list of concernsmy doctor gave me has "abdominal (menstrual) cramping". I'd call doc asap.
I spent yesterday morning in labor & delivery, I called doc cause I was having pain radiating from my lower left abdomen. I wasn't sure if it was gas or contractions (I'm FTM). They had me come in. Turns out they were contractions caused by dehydration.
Please call your doctor.
