Any Wondfo tips?

Having been thoroughly disappointed with the wonky behavior of the ClearBlue Fertility Monitor, I ordered some Wondfo brand OPKs.  (Also, I'll be traveling during ovulation this month and didn't really want to take my monitor with me.)

They arrived today but didn't come with any instructions and I'm wondering if you have any tips.

On what CD should I start?

Do I test once or twice a day and when?

Is there anything I should know about reading the results?

Also, this might be an odd question, but how deep does the collection cup have to be? Can I use these tiny 1oz ones? https://www.healthykin.com/p-3439-medi-pak-medicine-cups.aspx?gclid=CMKtw7O3kcACFaVZ7AodETMA0A&

Would love to hear about your experiences with these...

Thanks! :)

Of course I now just toss them or show them to DH as my 'foreplay' when it's positive. (He's a cheap date)
    Ha! Hilarious!

Thanks for the tips, they're super helpful. What do you mean exactly by "Once you start to see the pattern fade in a little, then increase the times you test per day."?  Do you mean that you can see the test line getting darker each day?

Based on the last two cycles, mine are 26 days and I ovulate on CD14 according to FF, although I have a sneaking suspicion it actually happens a day earlier than FF thinks.

  • I can see the line on the wonfo get darker day by day leading up to a positive - when it's really close or positive is when I double check on the digital. The digitals get pricy! I test only once a day in the afternoon and haven't had any issues with only testing once.
  • Awesome, thanks, ladies!
  • I've got to buy some. Every month I say I'm gonna buy them, but I never do. Since I'm already on cd9 I will purchase them for next cycle
  • @C_Girlie How long is your cycle and when do you O? I ordered 20 to start and they arrived in two days (with Amazon Prime).

It was tempting to stock up but with my (and your!) experience with the monitor, I wanted proof that I can use them and they work before ordering more.
  • @Rumbera28 had great advice.

I always recommend using two a day starting about four days before you think you will O.

In my PP cycle, I started testing on CD10 and didn't O until CD18. I almost gave up hope! ;-)

I would also recommend testing around 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. That seems to help identify surges better than once a day. I test just once after the positive test, just to see if it's faded.

Usually, I O two days after the positive Wondfo, but I did O one day after the positive in one cycle.

    Love my Wondfos!

  • I just got my first batch of Wondfos the other week. I was a little concerned when they didn't come in a box like the photo showed but other than that, they seem normal.

It's my first month temping as well, do I'll admit that I'm keeping a Wondfo "journal". I'm in CD11 & still no positive, but I'm starting to feel O aches, so I'm anxious to see if I do get a positive Wondfo.

  • @marijaa333‌ I O cd14-18. So technically I still have time to order them. But for the next two months DH & I are gonna be a little less aggressive TTC
  • I also ovulated on cd13-14 so I usually started my OPK's on day 7-8. I always did SMU and again around 1-2pm and never missed a surge. Then again I always had positives for a full day.

@Rumbera28‌ I learned something new today. I didn't know as you aged you have more LH in your system. Consider me edumacated!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Thanks @pintobean39 and URMySunshine77 that's very helpful to know about testing with SMU and early-afternoon OR evening; that's a realistic schedule for me, especially after work picks up again in September.

@C_Girlie sounds like a wise plan! I think I already need a sanity check and we have only officially started this cycle!

@Ally1177 Hope you got a positive Wondfo! I'm about a week behind you, CD8.
  • @marijaa333 - I got a positive yesterday afternoon - CD13! Now I need DH to do some dancing today!!  :))

Quick update: I got my positive Wondfo today, CD 14, which is right on schedule, and I also felt a few twinges on my right side. It's cool to see the various signs line up.

We BD'ed last night, about 12 hours before I felt what I think were O twinges but now I won't see DH until Monday (two days after O), so if I understand Wondfos and BD timing correctly, either we caught it last night or I'm out for this cycle.
  • And in case anyone is interested, this is what the progression looks like:
  • I taped mine to an index card. It was interesting to see the progression! I just looked and next month, I'll be either out of town or just returning around O time... not sure if next month is going to be the one :(

But I can take the Wondfos with me! I'm rooming with a co-worker, so it may be a little weird to temp... Any suggestions? We don't want anyone to know we are trying.

  • Just get up slowly and head straight to the bathroom with a thermometer in hand. Your temperature is unlikely to go up a ton in the first minute after waking, unless you start doing jumping jacks.

By the way, I wouldn't keep any tests, thermometer or other supplies in the bathroom to avoid exposure to heat and steam/moisture.
