Hylands teething pills

Has anyone used these before?  Thoughts?  I did for the first time tonight and LO fell asleep shortly after....and I'm not sure how I feel about that since I've heard mix reviews even though its homeopathic.  We've done baby orajel and it helps, but LO seems like hes hating teething so much.  His entire hand practically is always in his mouth and he'll wake up out of a dead sleep hysterical at times.

    I used them with DS and I always felt like they worked. The Orajel warning didn't happen after he went through teething (I think it happened during but I didn't know about it) but I'd rather use something homeopathic first.

    I;ve been using them. I think they work better then orajel.

    My Peditrician told me not to use them.
    Me 28 DH 30 Married 08-11-07 TTC since 07/11 HSG 01-21-13 Left FTB Seeing RE 1-28-13 RE 1-28-13 Both tubes blocked LAP surgery 2-15-13 Both tubes removed Started IVF #1 June 2013 Meds: BCP, Lupron, Gonal-F, Ovidrel, Medrol, Doxycycline
    Beta #1-BFP!!! HCG-55 Beta #2--111 Beta #3--2,825 Beta #4 22,031 1st U/S 7-29-13 Saw and heard our little sweet pea's heartbeat!! 109 bpm

    They used to have a very high concentration, a few years ago they were pulled off the shelved and re-formulated (is that a word? IDK I'm exhausted, but you get what I mean!)
    1st FET 2/14/2013 Happy Valentines Day! - BFN
    2nd FET 6/14/2013     - BPF!!! -
    1st Beta:     1046!!!!! - 2nd Beta: 2754!!!!!
    First u/s 7/11/2013 - TWINS!!! 120 and 124 heartbeats <3
    Second u/s     7/29/2013 - wiggley babies! 178 and 184 heartbeats!
    Third u/s     9/9/2013 - 157 and 161 heartbeats ... a BOY and a GIRL!!!! Cervix on the "shorter side" (3-3.3) - going to check again in 2 weeks.
    Fourth u/s 9/23/2013 - Baby A = 157 Baby B = 150 heartbeat. Cervix now 2.3-2.6 ... being referred to a MFM
    MFM Appointment 9/26/2013 = Both babies healthy, cervix now measuring at 4 - Playing tricks on me ... will follow up in 2 weeks.
    Cervical check 10/7 with regular OB - 2.1cm  --- going BACK to the MFM armed with ultrasound pictures from my OB of my cervix. *sigh*
    MFM Appointment 10/8 - confirmed my cervix at 2.1cm - putting me on Progesterone for a week.
    MFM Appointment 10/17 - Cervix unchanged! Keeping me on Progesterone - followup 10/29

    Our pedi said not to use them because of the ingredient belladonna and homeopathic remedies aren't regulated by the FDA.

    Homeopathy doesn't mean "natural." Homeopathy is a belief that things can be cured by the "laws of dilution" - when drugs are diluted into minuscule amounts with the thought that the more diluted a substance is, the more potent the water. They also use "laws of similars," where they believe substances that cause similar symptoms can cure diseases. For example, some homeopaths believe you can use diluted rattlesnake venom to treat Ebola symptoms since both cause similar hemorrhagic symptoms.

    Most homeopathic remedies contain little if any actual "active ingredient." However, you can never be certain exactly how much since they are totally unregulated. (These tablets have been voluntarily recalled and "reformulated" before.). Any effects from "treatments" can generally be attributed to the placebo effect.


    tl/dr version: avoid homeopathy
