I'm stumped?

So two nights in a row LO has got out of his swaddle me. Both arms and kicked it completely off! So I thought ok let's try it without if tonight and see. Because he wants his thumb in his mouth. Well that lasted a whole 10 minutes and he never fell asleep because his crazy hands wouldn't let him. My question is how do we go about weening him out of this thing like he wants to be? He's been swaddled since 4 weeks old and will be 15 weeks tomorrow..

    I don't know if this helps but we switched from a swaddle me swaddle to a wearable blanket with swaddle wings. She can still kick her legs about inside the blanket zip up baggie thing but since it zips she can't get out on her own, we started out using the wings on top now we wrap them under her arms

    In The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep, the recommendation is to start with one arm out. After three successful nights of that, try both arms out. If that fails, wait a week and start over. Repeat until weaned.

     We haven't done this yet so can't vouch for well it works, but it is one method.

    Yep, this. We did it this way with DS1 and it worked. But we didn't try until 4 months with him.

    With this LO, he breaks out of every swaddle I have bought and it drives me crazy, but he isn't ready to not be swaddled. I am seriously waiting for him to be ready so we can ditch them.

    DD has been breaking out of her swaddle as well.  At least for the last three nights I've been putting her to bed in her swaddle, but not re-swaddling her after her MOTN feeding.  She seems to be doing just fine for the second half of the night without it.

    As long as both arms are out you can still use the sleep sack.

    Zipadeezip.com... We started DD in one a little after four months when she started breaking free of the sleep sack. She's two now and still sleeps in one... Should be a fun habit for us to break. :) it's basically a wearable blanket with the arms enclosed. Start with naps first. It only took a few days to transition. I've used it for other kids I've watched too and it made bad sleepers into great sleepers!

    DS hates his arms swaddled but they never stop moving. It looks like he's driving a car lol. We bought the summer infant sleep sack and I swaddle under his arms. I tried to swaddle his arms in tonight because he has had a very hard day and he screamed his head off. So arms out and he's actually sleeping in his back right now. In my bed but on his back :-/ ugh. Baby steps I guess.

    Thanks guys! I actually tried the one arm thing tonight and so far so good! He's been asleep for about 2 hours so we will see how the rest of the night goes!
