Had our big u/s yesterday at 17 wks - 2 girls!!! (Di/di) Super excited and loved seeing them on u/s for so long.
Twin A - has an awkwardly positioned placenta - so they're keeping an eye on that. Measurements put not right on track at 17wk - give or take a day or two.
OB called after I left notifying me the perinatologist reviewed u/s and BOTH babies have Choroid Plexus Cysts on brains. Cysts themselves are benign , but could be a marker for chromosomal abnormality (Tris 18 or 21)
Of course I have some fear, but as far as I could tell & was told, everything else looked great in the u/s.
Anyone with this experience?
Next u/s is Sept 15th - I'll be getting growth u/s every appt from here on out.

Re: Choroid Plexus Cysts
Right ovary removed 09.04.2012 via vertical laparotomy
Essure implant placed on remaining tube 06.13.2013; successful followup scan 09.30.2013
We didn't have any detected on our A/S but when our babies were born early they had to have brain u/s to make sure there were no bleeds. Our girl had one in her brain and we were told its common and they often disappear. We never even needed it rechecked.

we found out during our first pregnancy that our baby had one. they found it during the AS at 20 weeks. i had a sister who passed away from trisomy, so i was pretty darn panicked about it. even with a family history of trisomy, my doctor was super calm about it he didn't recommend any further testing and he told me it was nothing and that my baby would be perfect.. she is a perfect (almost) two year old. sharp as a tack. we never had it retested. no idea if it went away or what, but i would try to not worry about it.
