PPD/PPA Medications & Breastfeeding

Sorry if this has already been discussed before. For the moms who are breastfeeding and on medication for PPD and/or PPA what are you taking that is safe? I really need to talk to my doctor about some depression and anxiety I’ve been experiencing but I want to go in with an informed idea or what I can or cannot take if he decides to put me on something. If you started this med after you had baby, what kind of side effects have you experienced and was your milk supply affected? Thank you for responding I really appreciate it and although I know there may not be a “magic pill” I just want to get back to the me I was psychologically before I had my boys instead of what I’ve become. We go for LOs 4month appt on Friday and I really need to talk to my doctor about things while I’m there.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Celexa (sp?). I only took it for about 3 months but I experienced no side effects, neither did Brooklyn, and my milk supply was always fine.

Took Zoloft (50 mg) when I was breast feeding DD1 and had no side effects.

I take 50 mg of Zoloft and haven't seen any side effects while breastfeeding. I've been taking it since I gave birth.

My doctor just started me on Paxil, 5mg. No issues with my supply but I have had awful stomach pain and diarrhea. I am going to try switching the time I take it and if it doesn't help call and ask for something else.
