Establishing AM routine

I am going back to work in a few weeks. I want to continue to nurse in the AM before I leave for the day; then nurse as soon as I get home; and then overnight as needed. DS's schedule is all over the place. Sometimes our first feed is 6am, but often it is earlier or later. I have such a small window to fit in this feeding in the AM, in addition to getting myself ready, as well as my 3 yr old. Do I just start feeding him at a consistent time each day, regardless if it's been one hour or two hours or three hours since he last ate? Curious any advise or suggestions from any of you who have went through this? TIA!

  • I startee back to work last week and wanted to nurse first thing in the am as well. I woke her up at the time I wanted her up the first few days. Since then, she has gotten herself up within an hour of that time every day. If she isn't up by a certain time, I go wake her again. She has at least been starting to stir by that time each day.

  • Okay, I'm going to start soon. Hopefully he'll fall in line! We need to get his bedtime routine more consistent too. Should coincide well with his age/readiness-- I hope!
