Maternity Scrubs?

Should I bother?  Or just size up again? My effing pants are killing me today.  The kind with the elastic back usually sit too high up on my waist.  If I wear them below my belly, I have droopy crotch and some tightness.  What are you nurses/medical professionals doing?  Scrubs are supposed to be comfortable.   :-L

Re: Maternity Scrubs?

  • They cost me an arm and a leg (compared to what I usually wear) but the Greys Anatomy maternity scrubs are amazing. And they wash really well, so I didn't have to buy a ton :) I also mixed in regular maternity tops with the scrub pants and just put on a scrub coat for the pockets.

  • I didn't bother. I went up a size again and got draw string pants. I tried the pants under my belly and wore a bella band to cover my belly/help keep my pants up. I did that for 4 months with dd. I just couldn't justify spending the money on maternity scrubs.

  • I just ordered 2 pairs of Cherokee maternity scrub pants on Amazon last night. They were $18 a piece. The ones I currently have (elastic back, drawstring front) won't stay tied or up.
  • I broke down and got some Cherokee also. If I'm going to be wearing them for 14 hours a day, 3 nights a week I'm going to be comfortable! I got 3 pair that I'm going to wear on repeat.

I tried just one size bigger, but the legs were huge and way long. It was worth it in my opinion. I'll grab a few plain $5 old navy t-shirts to wear with it when my tops don't fit

  • I bought "flexi" tops that have elastic stretch sides I bought a couple pairs pants a size up but the way the fit is super uncomfortable. I was able to find some stretchy work-out/sweat type pants that don't really look much different than scrubs and they are super comfortable on my belly.

  • I sized up.
  • I have to wear the hospital provided scrubs. I'm still wearing the same size pants I just roll them under my bump this keep from having a saggy crotch. I have been wearing stretchy work out tanks under my scrub top and they help keep my pants up.

  • I also wear hospital provided scrubs and just roll below belly. I was able to wear them all through both pregnancies with my girls (worked until 38 and 39 weeks when they were born) and expect they'll be fine this time too! :) Sometimes I wore the hospital scrub pants and jacket with a regular maternity t-shirt like someone else said, but I was working postpartum at the time...not sure that would work as well in L&D (can't wear clothes from home into the OR...). It sure was comfy that way though!

  • The Cherokee pants are amazing. They run big though. I just wear tshirts with a white coat but a scrub jacket would work, too.
