hey is everyone aware of the amazon mom special..I may be late but wanted to spread the word lol basically you are getting 70% off for signing up! and that makes diapers and wipes super cheap! Im signing up today and ordering

any suggestions on which sizes to order?? im a FTM

Stocking up on diapers?

Our diapering stockpile is:

1-2 packs NB diapers
2-3 packs size 1
2-3 packs size 2
ALL the wipes
6 packs diaper genie liners
2-3 tubes Aquaphor

We may need more but don't want to buy too much since we don't know what size he'll start in or how quickly he'll outgrow it.

This is good info. Are you getting the smaller packs or larger packs?

Stocking up is up to you. I think I had 1 box each of NB, 1, 2, & 3. You can set up an auto delivery to help you out with making sure you have what you need on time. The reason I say stocking up is your call is because you might find the diapers you stock up on don't work well for your LO. For me, DS didn't do well with Huggies (they leaked), but Pampers worked great. I didn't find too much of a $ savings by stocking up considering everything else you have to buy in the beginning. I do recommend starting to save some coupons as you come across them.

We'll use pampers swaddlers sensitive when baby is new, and I haven't seen any really big packs in NB size...

Basically, I want 1-2 weeks worth of NB diapers and 2-3 weeks worth of size 1 (even though I bet he'll spend longer than that in them) and 2. That's 85NB (minimum) and 170 size 1 and 2 (minimum).

I'm really more about stocking up on wipes than I am diapers. With DS, we were given like a zillion size 1 diapers and ended up donating many of them. He was in preemie and NB diapers for a long time, so we were buying diapers all the time anyway. I prefer to buy diapers as needed and just have a closet full of wipes.

I used Swaddlers Sensitive with DS1 but the hospital provided us with plain Swaddlers which are slightly cheaper and DS did fine with them. I stupidly kept on buying Swaddlers sensitive when I could probably have used the regular Swaddlers.

For this LO, I bought 88 newborn diapers and 300 size 1 diapers all in regular Swaddlers from Target. If he has a reaction, I plan on returning or exchanging them. After he's done with size 1, I plan on switching to Target's Up and Up brand which is a lot cheaper than Pampers.

Has anyone used amazon mom before? I was going to order the Huggies because I can get a great deal but I don't know if I want to sign up for subscribe and save forever. So how exactly does it work? do I just cancel the subscription after my first one gets here and that's that? Or if I decide to keep it can you change sizes as your lo gets bigger?

The Huggies thing it says for your first package of Huggies with amazon mom or something similar to that. My parents have prime we share so I was able to just add the amazon mom

We order a lot of subscribe and save items you choose what you want each month and it's no big deal to add and delete things. When I signed up when I had DD prime was free for three months so I waited until DD was born to start it. Once you try it you will get hooked so it doesn't really matter when you start. In addition to diapers and wipes we get diaper cream, lotion, snack products, feminine hygiene items, cleaning products, and lots of other random things. It's awesome. We also order so many other things that the cost of prime would still be worth the price just for the two day shipping.
