That is just weird to me, I mean if you have excess milk donate it to a milk bank, don't make cheese out if it. Just my thoughts.
Isn't this a thing? I heard vegans can drink it/eat the cheese because it comes from an animal that gives consent to it? They sell the stuff and mom's stay at home and do it as a business and sell it to local vegan stores. I think in NYC... I could totally be misinformed but I have heard of that and it weirded me out!!
Dh wasn't too keen on trying it but accidentally got a taste during some sexy foreplay(sorry for the tmi) lol. He then realized it wasn't as traumatizing as he thought it would be and I asked his opinion on taste. Lol. But we are weird. I keep telling him I'm going to sneak some into his coffee sometime and he'll never know! <-----I won't actually do that. Totally a joke.
I have heard it's normal though. I was definitely curious and tasted a few drops.
My friend's husband said he tried his wife's milk and loved to put it in his coffee. When he told my husband this, my husband actually gagged. It was hilarious! Now it just makes me want to hide it in things he eats/drinks. So DH said he's only going to consume food and beverages from outside the house.
I can't bring myself to try it, not even off my finger. I think it's disgusting and I don't mean the process. I just think me personally trying my own is gross.
My husband has tried it. Maybe my hormones are wonky, but during my breastfeeding period one of them would just start shooting off during sex. So there were plenty of times he ended up with a face or mouth full. I thought it was hilarious and not weird at all. He says it tastes like the milk at the end of a bowl of sweet cereal.
My husband says he has no interest. We were talking with another couple a few weeks ago and the guy was telling us that when his wife had a plugged duct, he sucked on it to get it released. Poor DH about gagged.
I personally never tried it when feeding the twins, but i hear its Sweet (what my brother told me when him and his wife had their baby) Don't think its weird at all...
Don't know if DH will try it, it's not something he is against....and that from the tap statement....nope. I don't want to feel like I'm nursing my husband.

This thread makes me laugh so much. Unless your postpartum intimate life does not include your breasts, he will taste it...at least a little. It's really not a big deal and it doesn't taste gross. If you're concerned and want to avoid the possibility, just wear a bra or some other breast-covering lingere during sex.
I find it amusing too that people are so disgusted by the thought of tasting human milk but drinking milk produced by cows is totally normal. :P
I am pretty sure my husband will freak out about it! I bet he will be encouraging me to keep the bra on during sex til my supply goes away when we ween. I can't wait to tell him about this thread and see his face... O:-)
My husband has said repeatedly that he will try it... I don't know if I will or not.. I guess we'll have to see when the time comes. I remember when I was 5 or 6 and my mom was breast feeding my lil sister, my sister said my mom's boobs made chocolate milk. Lol
OK this post makes me feel better, because I thought DH was totally crazy. He has a tendency to be a mad-scientist-not-so-socially-savvy type sometimes. Being the science nerd that he is, he was actually interested in the potential health benefits, and was wondering if he'd be able to tolerate it (of course, not straight from the tap, and only if LO had enough). It totally weirded me out, but I guess I feel a little better now.
Technically (and I ONLY mean technically - lol) if DH had a cold, you *could* swab his mouth for germs and put his saliva on your nipple, then pump. Your breasts would produce milk containing the appropriate anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties to specifically combat DH's bug.
I do know of mothers who have done this for weaned kids who are sick. Or if the whole family has a bug, so baby too, offered the sick ones some of their milk.
@erawka I suppose that's why I find it so funny. It wouldn't bother you if he filled that with cows milk, right? It's just so amusing that human milk being consumed by adults is weird, but anyone can drink cows milk no problem.
Disclaimer: I'm absolutely NOT advocating for adults drinking breastmilk. I'm also NOT saying that I wouldn't find it weird too. I feel like every family needs to make their own choices in this regard and be respected in them. I do just wonder where the cultural gross factor came from, since we obviously don't mind SOME milk sources!
This thread is great. I was totally prepared to try my milk, and my partner was too. But when I actually started lactating, neither of us had ANY desire to try it. I thought the whole process was completely magical and cool, but the idea of drinking my own milk seemed gross to me in a way I cannot explain!
I think of breast milk as liquid gold, and I'm not at all squeamish about bodily fluids in general, so I was surprised to react the way I did. I did bring myself to lick a drop off my arm once: tasted like vanilla soy milk.
Omg... Lol I'm totally gagging. I'm not judging at all, to each his own (or her own, lol). I couldn't do it. My boyfriend is grossed out at the thought of trying it, but has done so much research on how to be supportive during trying breastfeeding. He thinks he will be able to keep me calm and be encouraging. I hope so... But if he goes for the goods, I'm gonna vomit.
Neither of us tried it as in chugged some down, but we both eventually tried a few drops. Tastes like sweet cream or melted ice cream. I don't think either of us is up to drinking extra for our own consumption but we aren't grossed out by it being my milk either.
My DH had no desire to try it, but tried it "accidentally" during some foreplay... he couldn't handle it, and avoided my nips for a long while after that.
Same here! He's enjoying this very short time from weaning DD#3 and my milk coming in for DS! \m/

Re: Men trying breast milk?
Now if they want to put it on their cereal?
:-/
@FamousEa to say the very least!!! SO weird!!
