Dumb pumped milk question

Those of you who pump during the day, do you use lids on the pumped bottles or top with nipples?

When I pick LO up from daycare, I just drop off the next days bottles. Is it ok to just cover with a nipple after I pump or is that a no-no since it isn't so air tight?

I'm not sending it to daycare, but when I put it in the fridge for DH if I'm going out, I use lids. I wouldn't want to lose any to leakage if a bottle got knocked over.

    This.
  • I store every 4 oz in the milk bags, ig I pump less than 4 or have mopre than 4 left over, then I use lids.   I would be afraid of leaking and losing that precious liquid gold!

  • Nipples with caps. Too lazy to wash extra lids. I just threaten anyone who goes near my cooler bag with certain death if they mess with it.

    Kidding, sort of.
  • I store with lids after it is pumped, but put nipples and caps on in the evening and take them to daycare the next day that way.  As long as it is cold, your milk will be fine.

  • I use nipples with caps.

I think when you use the cap it's airtight??? so Idk why you would need a different lid if you use the cap. maybe different brands are different. mine are avent.

  • I use medula and I always use lids just feels more sanitary to me.
  • I "store" milk in the medela bottles with lids then transfer milk to breastflow bottles (day care wants premade/portioned" bottles. It means to sets if bottles to wash, but it is what it is...

  • I ended up just leaving 3 nipples for her to rotate through (she sanitizes them). Then I bring them home to wash them myself. I ended up just using caps because I store the milk in her fridge when I pick him up, and I can't zip mt cooler with the nipples on.

  • I use lids. I'm kind of weird about thinking nipples will get germs if I just leave it in the fridge. But I didn't even think about using the caps on the nipples. I would do that :-D
