Baby girl is 5 weeks old. She's starting to chunk up and seem less "newborn" each day. She loves to push back of my chest and look around, but isn't a super fan of tummy time yet.
My vent is not about fresh baby, but my toddler. We've had a bad week. He chipped his tooth back in June. We first took him to a dentist office that, after two visits that made me uncomfortable. We realized they were pretty crooked (basically a mill to treat as many patients as possible to make money...owned by a bank, not by dentists). We found a new dentist who wanted us to wait and watch the tooth, because as of a week and a half ago, it wasn't clear how damaged the tooth was (aside from the chip). Fast forward to Friday when DS woke up from his nap with a swollen upper lip and a high fever. Urgent care diagnosed the tooth as abscessed and prescribed apparently the worst tasting antibiotic of all time that we had a horrible time trying to give to him. I emailed the dentist Friday night, and he replied to call him and that he could meet us at noon on Saturday. How freaking awesome is this guy?!? We got to the office and were in and out in about 15 minutes. He pulled my poor 2.5 year old's front tooth, with assurance that the source of the infection is gone and he should heal fairly quickly. So yeah...Friday and Saturday were pretty sucky. This was our first big medical issue with DS...he's never really been sick before.
Adelinde is 5 weeks old and also starting to look and act less like a newborn and more like baby!
Celebrations: She's started smiling this week in response to things other than gas which is pretty exciting! She's also started enjoying awake time during the day watching the ceiling fan is super fun apparently and the playmat's not bad. @mrscurlygurl we also love tummy time on top of mommy or daddy, have you tried that?
Vents: Baby girl cannot get enough to eat after 10pm so we've started giving her a bottle of BM at midnight to get her to sleep. It's worked and I'm thankful for that but it means I'm not storing much pumped BM and I'm very anxious about having to go to work a few days this week and next and her running out.
Also I can't wait to be on more of a schedule! We're still really struggling with sleep at night
Sadie is 3 weeks and 2 days old!
DH, LO and I all went on a family date last night! We went to a drive in movie theater about 40 minutes away and saw Guardians of the Galaxy. It was so nice to get out of the house and do something normal...and it went well! She had one diaper change that became a wardrobe change (she has impeccable timing) and we had to stop on the way home so I could sit in the back with her (she was screaming and I couldn't let her keep going like that), but overall, it was awesome.
She is cluster feeding...so my poor nipples are taking a beating. I'm hoping it'll just make them tougher in the end
This is the photo we used for our birth announcements:
Celebrations: once we get her to fall asleep at night she will sleep anywhere from 5-7 hours! Yay!!
Vents: getting her to fall asleep at night is always an ordeal because she is very gassy/fussy. She also is rarely awake without crying and has totally been cluster feeding the last few days.

DD will be 4 weeks old tomorrow! I feel like she is either eating, sleeping, or crying. There isn't much awake time with her just being content. Is that normal? When do they start being "happier"?
We finally got her pooping situation worked out (she essentially went about 12 days without going). But she more than made up for it yesterday.
Other than that, I'm just trying to pump and pump and pump to build up my milk supply and start getting a stash.
Any vents/celebrations/questions, baby related or not?
Celebration: I'm down 5 lbs from my pre pregnancy weight. I can't wait to be cleared to start exercising again.
Vent: DS is being super clingy and whiny. I'm hoping this phase is over soon. But I am enjoying the nightly cuddles and snuggles after bath before bed that I haven't gotten since he was 6mo.
Pictures to share?
Just the pic in my siggy from a sweet moment I caught with DS holding DD hand.
@TwizzyG my DD is the same way, she is rarely awake without crying. I'm hoping in a few weeks she will get a bit "happier"!

Dylan is 5 1/2 weeks old! Huge celebration since he STTN last night! It was amazing! I gave him his last bottle and put him down at about 11 and he didn't wake up until 5:50. My older son started STTN at the same age. Hopefully it's just not a one time thing. My other obstacle I'm trying to tackle is potty training DS1. He's more than ready, just being beyond stubborn. I'm taking it slow this time around, trying all the tricks in the book. He's a picture of Dylan smiling at something besides gas. He loves to stare at the fan.
Ugh, @MSUDucks...that sucks you had to quarantine yourselves.
@earichar23...we do tummy time on us. Yeah, I meant she's not a big fan of it on the floor. I even have a small boppy meant for tummy time, but she's not there yet.
He's a pretty easy baby. He sleeps well and only cries when something's wrong (dirty diaper, hungry, etc.). His sister, on the other hand, has been quite a handful. She's perfected the squeal, tries to bite, kick, and jump on me. I think she's doing all of that to get my attention. Thankfully, she's not always like that. She's pretty good with Ari. She's brings him his paci, a blanket, liked to rock him in his swing and cover him up. She also like to love on him, although sometimes, a little too rough. We're working on it.
Here's a picture I took of little man, trying to catch him smiling.
We have only been home 2 days so DH and I are trying our best to take turns sleeping and trying to limit the number of visitors daily so we can settle in.
Luckily she is not a really fussy baby. She does have an hour or so in the middle of the night where she is crying nonstop.
Overall, we are overwhelmed with love for this little one! Today is our wedding anniversary and DH took baby out for a while so I could nap and they came home with a beautiful diamond necklace I'm a bit spoiled by them!
She is starting to get on a night time routine which is great! She is not looking like a newborn as much anymore. We seem to be getting her gas under control, which is making her a happier baby!
We are also try to potty train our 2.5 year old. He is definitely ready but seems lazy.,we have had 3 successful days with only 1 accident. We are bribing him with beach days, since he loves going to the beach.

My only vent is nighttime. From around 11:00 to 1:00 or 2:00, all she wants to do is eat! She'll fall off and lay her down, and she wakes back up. Back to the boob. Eventually she gets enough I guess and stays asleep when I put her in her swing.
Celebrations: Once she's down, she won't wake up until I get her up for her next feeding! We go for her 2 week checkup Wednesday. I'm almost positive she's back to birthweight, so here's hoping that we can stop waking her up and just let her sleep! She's also been spending some time here and there during the day awake, alert, and content to be awake. She's a sweetie!
For a couple of weeks I've noticed her head shape look a little weird, but I chalked it up to being a newborn. Well late this week my husband told me he was worried about her head shape too. At her one month check up the pediatrician made a comment about her forehead protruding a little bit. I didn't hear him say it but once my husband mentioned it to me I started googling. Because of what I found through google I went ahead and made an another appointment with our pedi to get her head examined because her forehead is slightly protruding and her temples look pinched. I'm no doctor and I know I shouldn't rely on google but I am afraid that she might have craniosyntosis so I have to make sure. The few people I have told have told me I'm crazy but I'm following my motherly instincts to get it checked out. I'm really hoping I'm just crazy. I suppose we will see tomorrow.
Hope you ladies have a great week ahead of you with your adorable babies
Hey ladies! Lelaina is 5 weeks today and we are so in love!!
Celebrations: I'm happy to say that we've successfully transitioned her to sleeping in her crib for almost a week and she sleeps and average of 7 hours a night!
Additionally she is spending more and more time awake and not crying. She's starting to make the cutest faces and I know she'll be smiling for real in no time at all! She loves tummy time and her play mat as well as her MamaRoo (which is seriously saving my life).
Vents: My dogs are driving me insane. They literally bark at everything and while right now it's not affecting the baby I know eventually it will. And when a dog barking fit coinsides with a fussy baby fit I think I'm going to loose my marbles.
Aside from that I'm loving being a mommy. I'm completely in awe of the whole thing and trying to savor every precious moment with my newborn. Can not believe one month is already gone!
