I've had two consecutive nursing sessions without cringing in pain, delatching DD because she makes my boob feel like it's on fire, and only needed a small amount of lansinoh. That and my poor nipples are almost healed. 13 days ladies. That's how long it took.

Meeting with the LC again tomorrow for a checkup. I'm guessing this time I won't cry

Yay! My bleeding cracked nipples are almost healed too- about 95% better now and now I only have the initial latch pain. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Congrats ! I was crying yesterday due to cracked and bleeding nipples. Great job toughie it out !

@MrsDuarte8185‌ dd was sleeping 4 hours at a stretch. I never woke her to nurse. The LC said I had to while we were in the hospital, but my pediatrician wasn't concerned.

She's sleeping now 4-6 hours at night. Last night I fed her at 10pm, woke her at 2 am bc I was full, put her back down at 3 and had to wake her at 830 bc my daughters had swim lessons.

I'm happy she's sleeping like a champ, and she's gaining weight, so I'm letting her go with it

I'm considering myself extremely lucky

@mislogis‌ That's where we are too. Once I figured out I was letting DD latch wrong, the sore nipples went away fast. DD also goes 4-6 hours at night. She's gaining weight like a champ, so her pedi told me to just let her sleep and that she'll wake when hungry. It's very nice and I'm not complaining!!

I caved and bought a nipple shield. While the bleeding has stopped it still hurts really bad on the right side to feed. The LC told me that DS would become dependent on it and it's just something else to break him of, but at this point it hurts way too much and I get so engorged he can't latch right anyways. Good to know that it will pass eventually.
