Hi everyone. I got a BFP today at 11 dpo, due 4/23. This is pregnancy #5. I've had two losses, one at 8 weeks in 2010 and the last was at 10 weeks in January.
Looking forward to getting to know you ladies, hopefully!
I go in for my first betas tomorrow. Question I have is, do some REs or OBs put you on progesterone as a precaution after multiple m/c or do you have to test for low #'s?
I tested with a MTHFR mutation after the last loss but OB said it's not certain whether that had to do anything with the loss or not. She advised me to take a baby aspirin and I could possibly get heparin shots. But I wonder what about progesterone? (I plan to ask OB tomorrow too.)

mmc and d&c at 8.5 weeks - 8/23/2010
natural m/c and d&c at 10 weeks - 1/24/2014
DX w/ hetero C677t and A1298C MTHFR - 3/4/2014
Re: Cautiously saying hello ... And question about progesterone
I don't know if some doctors start patients on progesterone as a precaution, but I guess it is possible. However, it really is not a miracle supplement and is only proven to help a progesterone deficiency. This is my 4th pregnancy. I have taken progesterone with each of my pregnancies but still lost 2 of them.
All that said, it can't hurt to talk to your doctor. GL.

I am on progesterone but that is due to a 9/10 day luteal phase and the fact that I spotted from 4 weeks on with my first pregnancy that I subsequently miscarried.
I have been on progesterone since 3dpo, because with my last loss I had progesterone at 18 but there was no way to know if it was due to a deficiency or due to the septum.
As far as the progesterone goes, not all doctors put you on it as a protocol. I had 4 losses and am not on progesterone, as that is not the cause of my losses. They usually test your levels when pregnant from what I understand.
March 2014: first medicated cycle + iui = BFP!
I had two losses prior and was put on progesterone suppositories at the beginning of this pregnancy. There was no testing done and my doc didn't think I needed it, but she has a "it may not help but it can't hurt" mentality when it comes to the prog, so she prescribed me some anyway. I took a low dose suppository twice daily from 7DPO to about 11 weeks. If nothing else, it definitely helped give me peace of mind!

This time I'm not leaving without you.
I've had 1 healthy pregnancy (10 years ago exactly) and one miscarriage in December 2013, and this time around Doctor put me on progesterone (200 mg a day) until week 13 (which I'll be next week).
