Where to buy nursing attire?

One of the things on my to do list is to buy some nursing tanks, hopefully before the baby arrives.  Anyone know where to find them, other than Motherhood?  Also, where do you buy quality nursing bras?  When my boobs started getting ginormous, I bought nursing bras from Motherhood.  I've worn them through most of the pregnancy, but I don't think they are great quality.  They weren't very expensive, but they're already getting worn out and they are kind of uncomfortable.  I'm looking for actual stores, because I don't like buying clothes online without trying them on first (but I also hate all the walking that comes with real life shopping, so whatever).

  • I second target and walmart online has some decent tanks too. For the bra, I personally would just get a cheap, comfortable one and wait until milk comes in to get a good bra.

  • I've had no luck with anything other than Motherhood.  Tried two different Targets and they had like two racks and it's all just tanks, t-shirts, a few pants/shorts/skirts.  Finding a bathing suit was a nightmare, and I've never seen a single bra.

The nursing bras and tanks are in the lingerie section...not maternity.

  • I couldn't find anything at our Target either, and I went through all of the underwear/lingerie section and the maternity section.
  • I've bought nursing tanks from target but not bras bc they don't have them big enough in store for me. Maybe try a department store like macys or nordstroms
  • Also zulily has some sometime but shipping takes a while
  • I was going to try target b/c we have a gift card to there from our baby shower.  FTM here, I know people say to wait until your milk comes in to purchase nursing gear but who goes shopping with a 1 or 2 week old?  My bra size definitely went up since being pregnant so I thought maybe buying one of what fits me now and another size up, try on after milk and return what doesn't work??  Anyone else have a better suggestion??

  • Target for tanks, but I have yet to find a good bra because they don't carry them big enough. Now I'm gonna wait to see what size and order something nicer.

  • I got some from Amazon, mainly to wear during pregnancy because my rib pain was so bad.  They're a knock off of the "coobie" bra.  The straps are removable at the front so they could work for nursing too.

  • I have 2 Bravado nursing tanks and I've heard their bras are really nice as well. I like them a LOT more than the target tank I had.

  • My target has a whole aisle of nursing bras and tanks. Check online if your store doesn't carry them. They are priced well and mine from having my son 2.5 years ago are still holding up just fine.

  • Oh also, think a little out of the box for where to get them - I know of two nursing places around here that sell the bras/tanks, and I think our local cloth diaper store also has them. Might be worth some googling/calling around?

  • I bought great Liz Lange nursing tanks at Target - assortment varies by store, so look online and then use the website to find it in a local store
    .
I ordered my nursing bras from Amazon - I have very large breasts though (42H), so it was impossible to find them anywhere else.

  • I found I used long stretchy tanks with no built in bra more then anything. It was easy to pull the boob out and I had better support with the bra. I also hate tanks with built in bras in general.

I used motherhood bras and target nursing tanks last time. I'm going to Nordstrom to get fitted for good nursing bras after LO is here and my milk is in. I've heard good things about the Bravado and Cake brand nursing bras and tanks.

  • I just bought some online from kohls the other day. I know you don't like shopping online, but kohls will pretty much return anything. :)

  • sometimes your hospital will have a nursing/supply boutique. Either way when I had my first the did have one and the lady sized you for a soft cup stretchy bra before 2 months and then had you come back for a fitted bra sizing at 2 months, which is when supply and size normalize for a while. That 2 month mark is actually a bit smaller than the one at say 1-2 weeks, just food for thought.

I have always loved Bravado, they held up through 2 kids and almost 40 months of nursing. I now have to get new ones and don't live near a place that sells or sizes and the styles have changed a lot and prefer to try something on if I'm going to pay $50 bucks or so for it. So I am in the inertia and denial phase of what to do lol!

I tried some of mother hoods once and they lady didn't have any idea about sizing so since their return policy can be a hassle I skipped them. I bough a few at target but honestly they didn't hold up all that well.

baby #3 arrived in September 2014...cannot get ticker to work no matter what I try!

  • I ordered a couple nursing tank tops from Target, Basics Felicity Camisole brand, and I really like them. Obviously I haven't used them for actual nursing yet, but they are slimming and the nursing aspects seem good for when the time comes. But I've yet to order actual bras yet, for no real reason.

  • I second The Bravado suggestion. Love their nursing bras and tanks. I also found a small locally owned specialty bra boutique that sells bras for bustier women, nursing attire and mastectomy patients where I have purchased many of my nursing shirts and bras in the past.

I've heard great things about the Target nursing tanks and Bravado nursing Bras.

If you have a BuyBuyBaby they sell the Bravado nursing bras in store, and you can use a20% off coupon which is awesome! I also purchased a Bravado bra from my hospital boutique as they are offering 20% off in honor of breastfeeding month.
  • Try Roamans, their nursing bras are super comfortable. Roamans bras are not only comfortable but also easy to carry maternity bras for bustier women. You can buy at discounted price by using Roamans promo codes. I will highly recommend to shop from Roamans.

  • H&M has the best nursing tanks! Not pricey, cute, and come in two packs! Mine always ship to my house within a few days.
  • I ended up with H&M bras too - cheap, comfy, and the only ones in the mall in my size. BUT after 2-3 days one of the straps came unsewn, so now I am reinforcing every possible failure point. I can't say I'm surprised but it is rather disappointing. I am wearing a 38E so I'm thinking they just sized up the basic style without considering the, er, added stress it might encounter at larger sizes.
