We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.

We check in on Mondays and follow up with an accountability on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!).

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it is set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you are using MFP and have not found us yet, let us know so we can friend you!

Re: ***Healthy-Living Accountability***

  • Good morning @MrsG80inTN
    The Good:
I lost some poundage (how is that spelt right? It looks weird). I am really trying to not eat what I burn. I also am really trying to stick to the calorie count that MFP gives. FX!

The Bad: I tried Yoplait 100 calorie Greek yogurt in "fun" flavors like Boston Creme Pie and Blackberry Pie and confirmed why I've always stuck with Cherry, Strawberry and Peach. EWWW to all weird flavors.

The Proud: I am exercising almost everyday, sometimes more than once.

Your Plan: I'm going to try to do circuit training again with my sister this week on Tuesday and Thursday. It hurts so bad!!

Question of the week --- Do you read any fitness magazines or blogs? I do not, but I can't wait to see others' recommendations.

  • Hey everyone! Posting on the cell in spotty reception this week!

The good: a very active plan for this week! Lots of swimming and biking primarily.

The bad: my dad is taking care of our cats this week. He is a type one diabetic and I usually leave him sugar stuff on the counter just in case. We were scouring our cabinets and found chocolate eggs and jelly belly's. we saw the jelly beans were expiring soon so we brought them with us and ate half the bag in one day.

The proud: we decided last minute to bike to my birthday frozen yogurt. For the first time we didn't have to stop at all along the way. Even after the intense hill!

The plan: hiding the jelly beans! And being as active as we can this week. Also our planned meals are pretty healthy and the snacks we brought are good for us too.

No health magazines here, but I do a lot of scouring Pinterest for ideas.
We met in middle school. We got married 15 years later in a February blizzard of 2010.

  • Hi MrsG! Sorry I missed Fridays checkin, I was in vacation. How are you?

The good: healthy meals planned for the week
The bad: ate and drank a LOT on vacation and gained a pound. We're also going out to Mexican with friends this week
    The proud: nada
The plan: get back to the gym

@stinybean‌ I have tried every brand of Greek yogurt and the only one I like is the yoplait 100 strawberry or strawberry banana and my grocery store has stopped stocking those! They only have the weird flavors :(

  • @stinybean – way to go on the poundage losing.  Keep up the circuit training – weights really help shape your body!!!!  The Yoplait Greek yogurt sounds weird J  I like Boston Cream Pie yogurt, but not sure I’d like the greek yogurt side of that.  I do like to make my own cookie dough greek yogurt which is really yummy.

@menrandes –  I can’t remember – are you traveling somewhere fun?  Oops on the jelly belly’s – today is another day.  It was good that you biked to frozen yogurt though!!!!!

@km380 – I can’t believe you didn’t check in on vacation J  JK!  I hope you had a good time.  I think 1# on vacay is not bad at all and it’s probably from drinking and will come off soon.

  • As for me:

The Good: Last week there really wasn't much good... I did terribly. I guess the good was that I stepped on the scale, owned it, and got back on track yesterday.
The Bad:  Everything about last week - lol. (Although I did keep up with my workouts, I just ate TERRIBLY)
The Proud: I made it through the first 4 weeks of Insanity and did the 4th week twice...
Your Plan: This week is my "Cardio recovery" week so I am doing Piyo workouts in the morning every morning and doing strength/cardio at lunch. I am out of town again this weekend so I have to figure out how to manage that correctly.
Question of the week --- Do you read any fitness magazines or blogs? If yes, which ones? I do like Women's Healthy and Fitness magazines and buy them as often as I can. I'm thinking of getting a subscription. Beyond that I like the Fitbit and MyFitnessPal blogs as they usually have some good suggestions on there.

You're probably right about the drinking. Vacation was great overall but ended badly (see yesterday's TP!) But it was still good to get away and mh and I took today off too and went out to brunch :)

  • @MrsG80inTN
Not terribly fun, but I'm trying to make it fun. We are staying in a cabin with my mil, bil, and bil's girlfriend. I love where are staying, but the drama that comes with it isn't so great. We are just trying to do some stuff just the two of us as much as possible. There's a ropes course this year, so I'm eager to try it!

  • Sorry I missed the check-in Friday! As for me the Good is that I got all work outs in last week that I wanted to. The Bad is the lack of defined eating (instead of planning we ate out a couple times last week). The Proud I actually ran some of my walking workouts last week. The Plan is to continue the workouts and start planning meals more. We have a freezer stocked with food and never think to take any out until the day we were hoping to eat it.

QOTW: I don't follow anything, just Pinterest ideas.

  • @menrandes - hope you are able to make the best of it!!!  IL visits can be a little entertaining sometimes :-)

Nieko0423 - Lack of defined plans often trips me up too.  We try and plan our meals, but whenever my inlaws come in town (like last week) things get all jacked up.

  • @Km380‌ have you tried Fage? It's the most tolerable greek yogurt I've had. It was my starter yogurt. I was having a super hard time eating greek yogurt until I tried Fage. Everything else was like cream cheese to me. Now I can eat any kind so I just go for what's on sale.

@MrsG80inTN‌ Someone last week on here recommended that cookie dough yogurt and I pinned it for future use.
  • @readinglove‌ I'm trying to use running as a way to fight bad feelings off too.

I have tried Fage and didn't like it. My problem is I think Greek yogurt all tastes like chalk. But it's better than regular so I'm trying to eat it anyway. Maybe I'll try the Fage again
