MOTN feedings 8/10

The other one of these is long and on the second page. Time for a new start?

Charlie woke up at 2, ate a couple ounces, threw half of it up all down my legs and into my crotch. Totally soaked my underwear, so gross. I had to have DH hold him while I washed off and changed. Finally get baby situated and back in bed and I cramp up and am now dealing with the runs at 3 in the morning. Awesome night so far.

Ugh, so sorry @Lilygrace48‌! I have Mommy guilt. 6am and I hear a spit up sound from her travel crib at the foot of the bed. I check and she has actually vomited an entire feeding.

I've only seen this large amount come out of her once and half of her sheet, the top of the sleep sack, and all down the arm of the long sleeve tee I had underneath it were all completely soaked. There was so much on the back of her head it made a new sheet stain where I moved her AND I noticed it shot out of the mesh sides, down the crib, and onto the floor.

I have so much Mommy guilt, is this because I didn't burp her in the 3 middle of the night feedings? (She was fast asleep both times so I just snuck her back in there.)

She was making straining/grunting noises before this too, like she has gas or needs to poop.

I almost brought her to bed with me but I changed her clothes and tucked her into the mamaroo instead because of the incline. Wondering if she'll be hungry asap too. Ugh, I feel so bad right now.

  • @BMaidPlanner‌ if she was straining to poop, that could have caused the vomit. C used to spit up pretty bad when she strained, even with good burps the feed right before. I think we all try to sneak babies back to bed without burping and keeping upright long enough because we are exhausted. Its OK. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Sorry you also had a rough night.

So sorry to hear that you ladies are having so many issues. Hopefully, it will get better. This morning, LO was up every hour straining. It took her three hours to poop. I felt so bad for her.

Poop issues here too!  DD was grunting and straining for so long last night.  Her stomach is so off - she pooped at 1, 4, 5 and 6 and is still farting.  Poor girl.

@BMaidPlanner - I feel you on the mommy guilt.  Whenever DD has gas or is straining to poop I worry that something I ate made her belly upset and then I feel so bad.

  • LO is only going 3 hours before waking up hungry or with a dirty diaper the last few nights. This bites, we were having 5 hour stretches last week.

  • DS only ate 2 oz before bed at 10pm, I knew he'd be up in the MOTN. Hello, 3am. He wakes up at 6am every morning, so looks like I'm getting a crummy broken up night of sleep. Can't wait for longer sleep sessions!

  • @lest12‌ us too. He was sleeping 5-7 hours and going without a dirty diaper. Now it's a four hour stretch then every 2-3 hours. Fewer naps too. :(

  • Here we are again. Her sleep is so broken tonight. I fell asleep trying to sooth her straining. I woke up two hours later with her in my arms. I tried to put her down, but it was time for another feeding.

  • LO's diaper let us down, and I had to change her sheets after feeding her. Would have loved to change the sheets earlier before feeding her but she screamed until fed. This "drowsy but awake" thing is crap when it doesn't work. She normally goes down 1-2-3 after a bottle, and these ear piercing shrieks are getting old fast.

  • Sorry about your broken nights ladies! Charlie slept 8:30 to 5!! Its a fluke, but one I am happily willing to take. Mind you, between 5 and 8 he essentially had two bottles. maybe he just needs to tank up.

  • I hate weekdays!!

Hubby seems to be the only one to be able to get her down and asleep.

so here I am... 3am.. she has slept 30min since 3:30pm and Hubby wont get off work until 6-7am (he is supposed to be off at 1 but they are 4 guys short) so since 1-9am is my sleep time while he watches LO.. I basically don't get to sleep so that he can sleep for work at 3:30pm. boo hiss

Sometimes nursing gives me the heebee jeebees. It's just makes me uncomfortable in my body, no pain just wigged out.

My issue is when LO just wants to play and just licks at the nipple. No bueno!

  • @lest12‌ - your pic made me laugh so hard because Murphy was literally doing the same thing at midnight, he just didn't want to sleep last night.
  • LO did sooo much better for me tonight! Thank goodness! She barely fussed, ate, and went to sleep easily all day/night. I love these moments!! Now only if she could keep it up! However, I didnt try putting her down at all, so she wasnt waking up as much so I wasnt having to put her to sleep constantly. I also was able to avoid bouncing on the yoga ball which was nice because it killed my back yesterday!! Now I just need her to sleep without me holding her so I can get some sleep too! But I guess I have to pick my battles at this point lol.
  • @Taymiller‌ - I guess we should be happy they weren't screaming and crying but what gives, babies? lol

@sarajoy00 - glad you had a good night!

  • C has been sleeping in our room in the pnp since he was born. We started having him sleep in his crib in his own room 2 nights ago. He just slept 6.5 hours in there! I hope this continues. Don't want to jinx it...

  • @CAMag‌ yes. Just... yes.

  • Why am I up right now.....my baby? Nope!! The dogs needed to go outside, my baby is sleeping soundly. You suck dogs, you suck so hard!
  • This is supposed to be my night to get a good nights sleep and then sleep in because I have no toddler this weekend. Instead charlie has been up every two hours or more because he got shots yesterday and is constipated. I just want some sleep!!!

  • So much for getting LO right back down after the motn feeding. We had a poop blow out so I got her changed, fed a little longer, then swaddled her. As soon as she's in my arms, we have projectile spit up. Two outfit changes in less than an hour. Ugh.
  • I've delayed making LO's shots appt because she put herself on a sleep schedule this week (loosely 11:30pm to 5:15am, feed on one side, sleep until almost 8am - late bed time, but I will take what I can get) and I am afraid of going back to square one and seeing her possibly with a fever or constipated.

We had shots yesterday and our sleep schedule didn't change. He still slept 10:30-5:30 and will hopefully go back to sleep now.

My LO actually was more sleepy that afternoon after her shots. She hardly ever naps during that time, and she did (poor little thing). It was worse for me, I think.

DD also did the smiling and cooing at 3am thing. She normally gets up at 4am, but she still went back down at the same time. Adorably frustrating. I think my new MOTN plan is to dress her up in the most adorable pjs that exist. if she's going to be an awake little bundle, may as well have fun with it.

    Sigh.
