Is anyone still cramping on occasion?

I am 22 weeks and for the past week or so I have been having occasional period like cramping. It is different than the pulled groin feeling that I associate with RLP. I called the midwife and was tested for a UTI which came up negative, she said we could test for a bacterial infection but she is unsure if that is the cause since I have no other symptoms. I am just wondering if other ladies / STMs had cramping like this, I want to believe it is just growing pains. Thanks!

  • I'm a FTM but I also experience mild period like cramping off and on.  I'm sure it's just growing pains.  I'm not really worried about it.

  • I've honestly had cramping from about week 6 until now at 21. Just this past week they've gotten more intense and I'm starting to think they a Braxton hicks. I'm a FTM so I'm not sure. My dr has been unconcerned with my regular cramping though.
  • I have been feeling some today. Nothing major or long-lasting. I have an OB appt tomorrow, so I'll mention it to her then. Don't think it's a big deal, though. Especially with no bleeding to accompany it.

  • I've had little cramping too...it is usually short lived. I try to up my water intake and that helps a lot...maybe your a little dehydrated? Just a thought.
  • Dehydration is a typical culprit. Also, it may be intestinal (your digestive tract is starting to get moved around as baby gets bigger, gas pains, ect).

If it is Braxton Hicks, your bump will get really hard.
  • Yes I have had some light cramping and my whole stomach gets rock hard thought it was BH but didn't know if it was to early for that. It tends to pass quick and better when I sit and stop what I'm doing. Maybe the body saying slow down.
  • I've been cramping since early on in the pregnancy. I'm starting to think it's BH contractions because my stomach gets super tight. I know it's not from a lack of water because I drink 80+ ozs a day. Hope you find some relief!

I have had some cramping but it is related to my fibroids. Also as PP said it could be in part due to dehydration/not hydrating enough.

Edit: forgot you mentioned headaches. Try to stay more hydrated. Headaches have been one of my indicators. Also while you have contacted your midwife...Please be sure to keep them updated.

  • I have cramping pretty much my entire pregnancies and this one is no different. My OB just thinks I'm not drinking enough. I am trying to be better about drinking more ...especially at work.

  • Yeah I've been cramping off and on all through the pregnancy. Only for an hour or two and very slight, drinking a bunch of water helps.
