Dizziness

This all started this morning. I woke up to pee (for the gazillionth time) I immediately got all hot and sweaty, thought I was going to throw up. Of course I couldn't hold my pee so I tried to walk to the bathroom. I was standing still but the room was spinning around me. :-S I got up tried to eat a little and took some meds and it seem to settle down. But just now I got up from a nap, again to pee, and the exact same thing happened.

Any one else experiencing this? If so how do you deal with it?
My thinking is going in many ways:
Inner ear, drainage
Not enough to eat
Blood sugar level
Blood pressure
What's your thoughts?

Re: Dizziness

  • Unfortunately it's a normal pregnancy thing. Try not to get up too fast from a laying or sitting position, that can cause it to happen. There's so many other things that can cause it as well: Elevated BP, low blood sugar, getting too hot, moving too fast, bending over etc. When it happens sit down and sip on some water until it passes. If it's something that doesn't go away or improve after a little bit then call your doctor. I'd mention it to them at your next appt anyway just to make sure it is the normal pregnancy dizziness, but it sounds like it is.

I do deal with this btw. It happens a lot, especially in the shower for me.

  • My thought is you should call your doctor. (I'm not trying to be mean or snarky, just seems like there could be a number of factors that could cause it and they should be able to give you better guidance).

The only other thing I can suggest is make sure you are drinking a lot of water. I think the base is half your body weight in ounces per day (and more if you spend time outdoors or doing physical activity). My "base" for my current weight is like 70 oz, but my goal is at least 100 oz in a day. I notice I get dizzy if I'm slacking.

  • Yea I'm going to bring it up next week when I go. For now it seems to be going away right quick. The spell only last for a few minutes. Now that you all mention water, I have been slacking on that. I'll step it up. But yes I totally will be talking to my doctor. I don't have family around me so just wanted an ear to listen ;)
Ok good - and sorry you are going through this. Def not always easy being pregnant and we can all relate to that. FX your doc can help!

  • I'm glad to hear you are going to ask your doctor about it. I also get dizzy spells and they are related to low blood pressure for me.
