CMV Awareness! *Possible Trigger*!

Please share this video. I lost my infant son when he was 9 days old due to a virus called CMV. Most people don't know about CMV and I'm trying to get the word out and cross posting in order to try and help prevent others from going through the same tragedy that we have been through. I post some websites at the bottom of the video for more information.

Basically, CMV is a virus that most people come in contact with, and is only harmful when the immune system is compromised, such as in pregnany. The virus can spread from mother to baby and can cause birth defects and death. The best way to prevent this virus is to wash your hands and know the synptoms (fevers, and feeling like you have the flu) so you can get antiviral medication to keep it from spreading to your baby!

Please share! It might save a life.

Re: CMV Awareness! *Possible Trigger*!

  • It's worth saying here as well that healthy adults can carry the virus, but not exhibit symptoms. Usually by the time you've come into contact with the virus, your immune system is well developed and able to suppress it. They actually test for it when you give blood so your products aren't given to pre-mies or other severely immuno-compromised patients.

It's related to the chicken pox and HPV.
