It's actually starting to be real..

Just passed the 2nd trimester mark today.  Officially made it there.  

We went to look at babies r us and to get an idea about furniture on Saturday. But decided to wait to totally figure it out, until we know the sex.(Hubby and I kind of want the white furniture for a girl, but the dark stuff for a boy... that could change but who knows). I cleaned out the closet in the extra bedroom, and we know have a blank slate for a room. 

I think it has finally hit me... We are going to have a human.

    I haven't went to any baby stores yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

    My in laws actually bought my nursery furniture last weekend. Hubby is currently working on painting the nursery. And we have a company coming tomorrow to measure and then install new carpet in the nursery. It's so exciting and overwhelming at the same time!

    My fiancé and I finally started baby shopping yesterday! As I was hanging up the little onesies on the teeny tiny hangers- it finally hit me! I just stood in the closet looking at the little clothes for a good 20 minutes. The clothes are just so little and SO CUTE!

    We have the espresso furniture for our son, i love the color but shows dust SO easily :) congrats and happy shopping!

    I know exactly what you mean. After two miscarriages, can't believe this is actually going to happen! Grandma has started knitting!!

    It's getting more real for me too, I don't know about DH. It's been hard to engage him about names or items (shopping), but he's been focused on things like finding a better family car, finishing fixer upper tasks around the house, and other pre baby prepwork. I think we are each preparing in our own way.

    I like the Cherry furniture... but the white is just so cute too.  The only thing with the white, not for a baby, but later -- I just imagine dirty little finger prints all over it... I don't know what's worse, dust or the dirt.

    I'm also thinking white furniture for a girl and dark for a boy.  BUT, my MIL is now gifting us hardwood floors for the nursery that match the rest of the downstairs that we just finished.  Originally, the nursery and our room were going to stay carpet.  Our flooring is really dark, so I may go lighter on the furniture for a boy now too.  And, now I'm thinking our room needs hardwoods or it will be the only one downstairs with carpet!

    Yeah, I feel like a slacker.  The room is cleared out and clean, but nothing else yet.  I guess we have to get cracking!

    Oh gosh....My 18 month old is still sleeping in my room, and her room has been used for stacks of clean laundry since her birth LOL. I still have so much to do. You ladies are on the ball!

    Man, we haven't even gotten the room cleaned out yet!  I am evidently VERY behind!
