Hi all, been lurking here for awhile but finally decided to do an intro and start participating. I'm a FTM currently 22+1 due on Dec 13 with a baby girl. I've known that I wanted to have a natural birth since I came across The Business of Being Born a couple of years ago, prior to that I had never really put much thought into it. I initially was seeing my OBGYN from pre pregnancy, but moved around 14 weeks to over an hour away, so I found a midwife near us. I'm going to be giving birth in a hospital, but selected the one we're going to based on the fact that they have the lowest primary c-section rate in the county, as well as low episiotomy, and epidural rates, and they have the highest midwife usage in the county. I was feeling pretty nervous about going natural until I read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth which was pretty empowering.
A little more background on me, I'm an EMT (although currently working as a dispatcher, MW said no more lifting patients) as well as volunteer firefighter, I'm 22 and recently married
