Check out the HP themed nursery on the Nurseries and Baby Gear board. Link pasted below. I totally want to steal ideas from here for DS1's big boy bedroom.
I agree with PP, they may have gone a little far (A baby is a little young for HP IMO) but it's still very cool! I would start a little more subtly, like with this super cute Harry Potter onesie
Hmmm - I never thought of it that way but I see your point.
I do think that the newborn pictures are adorable though, almost makes me want to get newborn pictures taken.
See I think the newborn photo is creepy too! The baby is adorable but why all the props? It makes it feel like he isn't the focus which is weird to me.

Lol, I didn't expect this to turn into a mini UO thread.
I actually really like it! How much different is this nursery from another that someone else had their heart set on? I mean it may be more for the parents but what nursery isn't?
I agree, I have already said we are planning to have slight HP details in our daughter's room, nothing as detailed as their nursery, but to be honest, what is the difference of you doing it with cars, or butterflies or whatever? It is still the parent's selections at the end of the day.
The thing I was struggling with, doing the nursery full HP is the colors, they are not as vibrant as I prefer therefore we went with a decal that has a owl, hat, broom etc etc. I will have the HP collection that I will buy for each LO as decor, and the light switch plate.
Once LO moves to her big girl room I will abide by what she wants to do for decor.
That sounds cute! I just thought THAT nursery was overboard. That's all I meant. It could have been the write up too that put me off with the expensive/priceless collectible etc. I dunno! Either way my baby will have HP onesies and tons of book decor which is totally ME. So I get that it is a reflection of the parents.
I think it's fun, but a bit much while not very smoothly put together. If that room will continue to be that child's, then its a great idea that can be built on at least.
@starla487, I went back and re-read and it sounds like they spent $1000 total on everything, including the furniture.
I agree though that the commentary is a little annoying - I did like that they mentioned the sources for different things that they bought and just liked the little details in the room. On hindsight, I might use this décor for a media room instead of a kid's room. Unless one of my sons decides that he wants a HP themed bedroom.
I honestly wasn't impressed by it. It could have been done better. It didn't look like it was all tied together. More like HP things put around. Also, I can get behind the idea of the nursery. Nurseries are more for the parents anyway. Until the kid has their own style then it's really another room that the parents have to decorate.
If I were to do it, I would have at least added this type of ceiling.
Re: Psst..Harry Potter Fans
But to each their own. NMS. I Love Harry Potter though!
