Can someone please explain to me what a Braxton hick feels like?? With my son, who turns 2 on Friday, I didn't feel any pain until I started having contractions 8 hours before he was born. My contractions with him were also immediately 4 minutes apart and very strong. I never had any Braxton hicks with him. The last few days especially I have been having a lot of sharp pains but they don't last long. What the heck? I am 16 days away from my due date.

Re: Braxton hicks?
I'm in the exact same boat as you. Well, except that those pains just started last night and I'm 40+2. No BH with DD, so I was hopeful yesterday might be it. Guess not? I thought BH weren't supposed to be painful but who really knows what's normal or not at this point.
I hate the waiting game. Were you late with your daughter too? I have an appointment in the morning and am hoping I'm dilated but not excepting to be.
DD was born on her due date, so I'm already 2 days into the most pregnant I have ever been. At last week's appointment, I was a fingertip dilated, so better than nothing I suppose. I keep hoping!
The only sharp kind of pains I occasionally get is a nerve pain (according to my doctor). As the baby keeps getting lower, sometimes there is so much pressure, and a sharp pain radiates through my back, but doesn't last long.
