So DS (6) says to DH.. "I know that baby's come from the mom's belly... But how does the baby get IN there?" DH: " uhhhh, maybe the stork"
I can't say that I have a good answer for this question (clearly my Masters in Education has made me more qualified to be a teacher than a mom)... But really DH? The STORK? How would YOU answer?
Re: DH: parenting fail, what would YOU say?
Seriously I have no idea. My oldest is only 3. I haven't thought that far in advance about these questions. Since he's only 6 I don't think the stork was that horrible of an answer. That may be because I don't have a better one though.
But the question was "how does the baby get IN there?" . :-?
Great book ideas! Thanks for sharing. Will someone hold my hand ?
We have this book and it's so awesome. Super open, direct, honest, accurate for families built through adoption and ART as well. We read it with our 2.5 yr old on occasion already.
Worked for us. But since he's 14 now he gets the gist of how things work.
I'm okay if that's failing.
He also thought that he had animal babies in his belly. He'd always have me feel his belly when the baby was kicking. It was actually pretty cute and we even bought little beanie baby animals and put them in a little basket for the day when LO was born so his babies could be born too.
