Help with Lumbar/Lower back pain!

I'm currently sitting with my back up against a backrest in my desk chair at work, helps me sit up straight and gently pushes on the lumbar part of my back.  All weekend whenever I sat, even with my back straight up against the chair with correct posture I get this awful pain in my mid to lower back.  This has been happening randomly for the past couple weeks, but this weekend it seems to have gotten worse.

The only time I really feel relief is when laying down, unfortunately that isn't an option for most of the day : (

Any suggestions?

  • I have a rice pack (literally a small pillowcase with rice and lavender in it, open side sewn up) that I heat up in the microwave and put on my lower back while I sit. The back and sciatic pain is insane this time around. Don't forget to stand and stretch often if you can.

  • gentle pregancy back stretches with maybe getting a belly band support.  this saves my back along with trips to my chiropractor :)

  • If you can, you might try getting on all fours and stretching your back that way (up and down, gently, like a cat) - that really helped me with my last pregnancy.
