This probably doesn't need to be its own thread, but what the hell? It's a slow day.
I'm looking for a good, step above "point and click" camera in the $300-$500 range. Something that will be good for photographing LO, but also things like landscapes. FIL lent me his old Canon S90 and I like it, so I'm thinking about the S110 or S120. Anyone have any recommendations for these or others?

DH has a nice Canon dSLR, but I'm too lazy to figure out the lenses, and even though he knows how to use them, it's really nice to also have a nice point and shoot. We have this Sony and we love it:
