Lower abdominal pain

Hi guys! I'm almost 17 weeks and today I woke up with lower abdomin pain that progressed and got worse during the day. It got so intense I had to leave my girls cheer comp and go to ER. They ran some tests and ruled out all emergencies and couldn't work out what it was. Baby's heart beat is fine , urine, ultra sound all fine. They have me panadeen forte and told me to rest. The pain feels like period pain and slight radiates to my sides also. Even with panadeen forte I can still feel it aching. I'm happy the doc was able to send me home and not worried but my pain continues on and I'm a little baffled as to what it can be . Has anyone had a similar experience?

Re: Lower abdominal pain

  • No experience here, either, but I'm sorry! I hope it goes away soon.

  • I'm sorry that you had a scare, but I'm glad that everything seems okay!

I've had a lot of pain that I feel pretty confident is just stretching and RLP, but I've been having other pain for the past two weeks (17 weeks today) that really freaks me out. It's really really low right in the center and it's a sharp almost burning pain. I don't have any other cramping or bleeding, so I'm just waiting to talk to my doctor at my appointment this week. I'm sure it's nothing, but it definitely scares me.

  • Hey guys!

Thanks for your feedback, so good to know I'm not the only one with this issue.
Went back to the hospital today, and had a detailed ultra sound. All looks good and baby is fine. They said my fybroid is stretching along the lining of my stomach and they think I could have pelvic instibility too. The pain is still there and only gets better with strong meds. I can't even laugh coz it hurts and turning in bed or getting up kills. I honestly can't believe the intensity of my pain, never had this in my other pregnancies either. The annoying thing yet again they told me at hospital when I asked if it's ligament stretching pain they said, ' um... Not to this intensity and out of the blue' which then makes you worried.
Good news is though I found out 100% it's a boy which I'm so excited about as I have two girls already!!!
  • Hope everything turned well in terms of the health of the baby and hope that the pain gets better too. Sometimes words from the doctor leave us in panic. Its good that you got to see the baby atleast that will put your mind at ease. Congratulations on the baby boy!
