leg cramp cream...need to vent

So i had a really bad cramp on my left leg and it was hard to even walk...i remembered i had a sample of " highland's leg cramp ointment" that was in the buy buy baby registry gift bad....stupidly without reading the back i put it on...i notice it smells like bengay so i look at the label and it says consult dr. If pregnant or breastfeeding.....why would they put something like that in a baby bag....did anyone else get this cream? I called the dr. And he said he never heard of it and not to use it again so i having been in the shower trying to wash it off...i feel so dumb :( and now of course im worried

    There are lots of products that docs have never heard of. My PCM told me not to use Zyrtec when I first got pregnant. Chances are it's fine to use. They may want you to check with your doc to make sure the cramp isn't really a blood clot or, more likely, because they don't want to get sued (notice that warning is on pretty much everything, even things specifically FOR pregnant/BF-ing women). If you have a recurring problem with leg cramps though, I'd pick up some tonic water. The quinine can really help.
