Nursing nightgown?

Do you plan to get one? I had one with the other two but got rid of it since then. I remember really like having it in hospital.

If you have gotten a nursing nightgown where did you get it?

Also what are you planning on wearing at the hospital? A nursing nightgown, robe, etc?

Thanks!

Re: Nursing nightgown?

  • I have a pair of nursing pjs that I love. I can't do nightgowns because they ride up and drive me nuts. ;)

In the hospital I'll probably just stick with the gown and switch to comfy clothes for the ride home, but my hope is to have a very short stay after delivery. If I was going to be there longer, I would probably wear my nursing pjs until time to go home.

  • With DS I got a shorter nursing nightgown for the hospital from Wal Mart. It was cheap, comfortable and easy for getting checked while at the hospital. Plus I didn't mind if it got ruined because it was inexpensive!
  • My mom just got me a nightgown/robe set from Macy's that is Motherhood Maternity. She had a coupon, so the set was like $30. The robe alone I was looking at from VS was $50, so I'm pleased with this. I didn't want something super expensive in case it does get ruined. But I'll still attempt to not ruin this regardless. The robe is pink and white stripe and the nightie is pink and white polka dots. It's cute.

  • my friend who has had three kids recommended a nightgown as opposed to pj's...I found a black one on Zulilly and I am hoping it isn't too revealing.  I think I will either bring my plaid flannel robe or find a cheap one.  Robes are always too short on me, so none of the cute ones work for me!  I will probably bring some black yoga pants as well, just in case or to wear home.

  • Ooh, I hadn't thought about this retail opportunity yet. Now I have something to do online during tonight's bout of insomnia!

  • I ordered an awesome nursing tank from La leche league. I think I bought it on amazon, it was only like $25. It is super comfortable! I'll wear that (its black), my black yoga pants, and I'm bringing my black fleecy robe to wear over a hospital gown.
  • At the birth center I just stayed topless for the few hours between birth and time to go home. At home I wear t shirts, tanks, whatever. Nightgowns aren't comfy to me.
  • I have a couple pairs of nursing pajamas for the hospital.  I do have a nursing gown, but I liked to have some pants on - I felt more "secure" with them holding in the giant mesh undies and pads.  At home, I'll do lounge pants and nursing tanks.  You can get nursing gowns at BRU and motherhood maternity I think, and I got my nursing tanks at target.

I have a nightgown that I got from Motherhood and really like it. At the hospital I just plan on wearing their gowns though.

  • My aunt gave me a nursing nightgown that she bought from kohls.

I agree with PP in that all you need is something with a stretchy enough top so that you can pull it down. I was able to use any kind of tank top/ Cami while nursing my first. The tops were stretchy enough to come down over my boob and surprisingly, the constant pulling didn't ruin the neckline.
