Double strollers for tall people

DH and I aren't super tall, I'm 5'6", he's 6'1". But as I read reviews on some of the higher end strollers with a handle that's not adjustable, some people have made comments about kicking the lower bar as they walk. With DS1 we had a nice umbrella stroller that DH couldn't push for that reason.

Anyone have this issue? Or if you don't, how tall are you/SO and what stroller do you have?

Re: Double strollers for tall people

  • I'm 5'9 and I don't remember any of the single stoller ones I've purchased being super short (Joovy jogger, Kolcraft, Baby Trend jogger, and First Years umbrella). I'm hate big bulky strollers...it is why I've gone through so many before I settled on the umbrella.

  • I am 5'9" and H is 6'2". We have a double britax and it is a comfortable height for both of us.
  • Oh thank you for this post! I totally had not thought of this! I'm 5'9" and remember babysitting for families with short strollers & would get bruises  from kicking the bar. I did babysit for one family that had a baby jogger and it was WONDERFUL!!!

  • I'm 5'9" and DH is 6'3" and our double bob revolution is just fine.
  • We test drove the City Mini Double GT an that has been the one that DH is in love with (and I like it too)  I'm 5'7" he is 6'2".  We even borrowed my niece and nephew that are almost 3 to try it out at the store. Thats the one we are getting we it's a SBS so for the carseat stage we are debating getting just a double snap and go or breaking down and just buying the Kolcraft Contours which was also tall, just not as easy to push.

  • Both DH and I are 6' and have the city select and LOVE it.
  • We have the mountain buggy and it works great for me (5'6") and Hubby (6'4"). The handle adjusts and neither of us have kicked it.

  • We found the Citi Mini GT to be the tallest - my husband is 6'5 and he is comfortable with it!
  • I'm 5'9" and I am very happy with the City Select. I have a lot of trouble with umbrella strollers being too short for me to push, and I much prefer a bulky stroller over that :).

  • I had a City Select and City Mini Double. I'm 5'10" and DH is 6'5". Neither of us had issues though admittedly DH did not use strollers often at all.
  • We have 2 city select doubles (1 21 mo and 4 mo trips) & they're great. We are 5'9" & 6'6"
