Failed my 1 hour; suppose to be less than 140 and I was 163. I had GD with Sweet Pea but not with Peanut. My OB was out of the office today but I'm going to call on Monday to see if I can skip the 3 hour and just be diagnosed with GD since I failed so bad and have a history. Here's hoping.

The change in diet could be enough, or you may need medication. There is an oral pill you can take in some cases (my mom does this for her Type 2, and it's awesome), or you may need to inject insulin. You'll likely have to monitor your sugar levels several times a day.
Pain in the butt, but not earth-shattering.
This is what my research/prior knowledge is... Correct me if I'm wrong!
I know it would be hard to take the 3 hour test but wouldn't it be easier considering a lot of people fail the 1 hour and go on to pass the 3 hour, than doing everything you need to do once diagnosed with GD? All of the blood testing and special meal planning can be a lot to do in comparison.
I failed the 1 hour test with a 187 (should be < 140). Had to take the 3 hour and passed each time point according to my OB.
I have had friends fail both and get a GD diagnosis with each kiddo, but a couple are like you who only had GD with one kiddo.
GL with your decision.
