Anna vs Annah?

So my husband and I really like the name Anna(h) but are in complete disagreement about the spelling. One of us thinks Annah with an "h" is weird and just asking for constant misspellings and another one of us thinks "Annah" with an "h" seems a little less plain and more vintage-y. What do you think? Thanks for your input

I would pronounce Annah differently- more like Uh-naah. If Anna is the name you want, spell it accordingly.

My name is a really common name spelt very differently. I honestly have always hated explaining how to spell it, then explaining why it's spelt that way and dealing with all the odd misspellings of it. I have had to have several important documents and contracts rewritten because my name
was spelled wrong. Also as a kid never finding key chains or mugs or really anything with my name on it, I know that sounds silly but when you're six it matters haha. I would go with Anna and save your daughter a lifetime of spelling corrections and explanations.

Annah is quite confusing looking. I don't know whether it's a middle initial, missing letter, or mispelling.

"Vintage" typically refers to something that originated at some point in the past. Annah is not vintage. I would say it was faux-vintage, but honestly, I'm not even getting a "vintage-y" vibe from it.

Annah looks really strange. If someone told me their name was Anna with an H I would have no idea where to put that H.

Like a PP, I too have a common name with an unique spelling. I am constantly correcting people on the spelling and the pronunciation of my name and will have to do so for my entire life. I have even thought about having my name legally changed because it is so incredibly annoying, but that would probably only cause more frustration. I too have had important documents be mixed up because of my name and they even pronounced it wrong for my college graduation. Oh and my wedding announcement was wrong too.

So please please please do not spell your poor child's name Annah. I have no idea why you think it looks vintagey, it actually looks like you are trying too hard. I know this might come across as mean and rude, but I really wish someone was this blunt with my parents when my mom was pregnant with me. It would have saved me a lot of frustration.
