I saw this pop up on another board and was curious to see if anyone had or is planning to bring little thank you gifts for the midwives, nurses or doctors that help in delivering your baby (or babies).
It seems like a nice gesture, but being a FTM, didn't know if this was standard or a weird thing to do.

I love the idea of being thoughtful and bringing something but it doesn't seem particularly practical to bring anything homemade.
I think you're supposed to do it AFTER you deliver, but I have to admit this was my first thought too. Although it might be a good distraction while in early labour?
I planned to do that

Mini hand sanitizers, Gum, Pens. Hard Candy, chocolates &Mints seem to be popular things to include and you can make 4-6 little goody bags and have them on hand (depending on how long you're expecting to be in the hospital) for the nurses and doctors you like.
Or instead of doing individual baggies another idea would be to have a basket of random grab and go snacks/drinks that nurses or docs can help themselves to.
Or you can do something as simple as a single candy bar with a witty tag attatched to it (like the M & Ms below)-- google has a witty saying for pretty much every candy bar out there. I plan on doing individual baggies with a little blank note tag on each one that I will write a personal message on before giving it to the particular nurse or doctor.
They deserved cookies.
This time I'll be at a different hospital, where SIL just delivered her baby. Those nurses were amazing and saved her from an unnecessary cs, and were the best nurses I've ever heard of/observed. After the trauma of my last birth I want to come into this one with the nurses on my side, as well as thank them for the care they offered my SIL.
