Question for a Friend - tips for weaning?

So, my friend has an almost-one-year-old, and she's newly pregnant. She's trying to wean her daughter, but her daughter is apparently NOT having it. She'll claw at my friend, scream to be picked up, and put herself into a nursing position. The baby takes bottles at daycare no problem, but the minute she sees her mom, she's desperate to nurse and cannot be consoled until that happens.

Any tips? She's at her wit's end and I didn't know what to tell her.

If she's willing to wait it out a lot of babies will wean naturally about halfway through pregnancy.

What she said ^ my first did this while I was pregnant with my second. Your milk changes. But if she's still going for it I would most likely just go cold turkey.

Milk changes and or dries up.

It changes to colostrum for the new baby. This recently happened to my friend and her toddler self weaned when she was around 6-7 months
