Sunshine Weekend!

What's good ladies?

Last night we went to a bbq with a bunch of my old coworkers and it was so great to see everyone!  Took the kids which was a mistake, but still had fun.  This afternoon we are dropping the kids off at my ILs and going to a local brewery to make our wine and then we're heading out to dinner at DH's fave Mexican place.  I'm really excited to get a few hours to ourselves without the babies.

I also started meds last night for my PPD/PPA.  I'm already feeling better if only because I know it's a step in the right direction.  Bonus is that it helps me sleep (though motn feeds were hard) and apparently it can help dry up my milk, which is great because I'm weaning.  DH even took a feed last night so I could get some more sleep!  I had to change Charlie and make the bottle, but I'll take the five minutes that takes over the hour feeding takes any night of the week.

  • DD1 is sleeping at my moms tonight. First time since Viv was born. So looking forward to the break!

  • DS slept from 8:45-2, though he decided to stay awake until almost 4, but then he slept until 7:30. I'll take it!  (I hope  I did not jinx it...) Plus DH got a new job closer to home with better hours, and I was up with H, dressed, fed both of us and out of the door by 8:45 this morning to run errands. Hooray beer!

  • After watching a video about The Happiest Baby on the Block and showing it to DH, I was able to wash pump parts/bottles, complete a whole pumping session (I got twice as much as it usually do!), start laundry, straighten up LOs room, and take a shower without LO crying the whole time. I'm not sure if it was the video or that maybe LO is finally done with her first leap that made a difference, but it was nice to have more than a few minutes to myself to get stuff done. During the past week I don't think I've taken a shower without hearing her cry nearly the whole time while DH tries to soothe her.
  • I actually left the house by myself (first time DH was home with both kids for more than an hour) and got my hair done -- it was SOOOO nice to have time to myself!

  • DS has been sleeping great for the past week! He goes to bed at 9pm and sleeps til 3am, then goes back down til I have to get him up at 5am when I'm getting ready for work. I'm curious how long he would sleep in if I didn't have to get him up.

My parents and dh's parents have been so wonderful to us! Not only are they taking turns babysitting, but they have been sending over tons of food and dh's parents mowed the lawn yesterday.

I think we would lose our minds if it wasn't for them, seeing as both dh and I were forced to work ridiculous hours this week. We are both working 7 days in a row, me doing 12s, him 8-10 hour days of running around and dealing with jerks.

  • Pacifiers are awesome. All of a sudden he likes them. Last night he started fussing a few hours after I put him down, so I thought I'd give it a try. Popped that sucker in and he went right back to sleep! He ended up sleeping 9-3!!! So nice. Then down for another two hours after a small snack.

  • I also got our best night ever! 10pm-5:30am and then 6-10am. DH and I are like new people! LO was starving haha.
  • My DH finally has a day off, I didn't realize how much I missed him. We will be snuggling all day---aww the simple things
  • DH and I got to see Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday, which was awesome.

Last night was the 3rd night in a row that DD slept from 10pm to 4am, then from 4:30am to 8am.

The high today is only supposed to be 99, first day of only double digit temps since early May. We're going over to my grandma later for one of my uncle's birthdays, so we may actually hang out outside.
  • OMG only 99 degrees @Pepper6‌ that makes me sweat just thinking about it! Gross that is too hot!
  • This was my last weekend of maternity leave before going back to work tomorrow (not the sunshine part). H and I drove an hour to pick up my mother so that she can be here half of the week to watch LO, and while we were there we all went swimming together. It was the first time I've been in probably two years, and we actually had a really great time :)

  • Yay! LO is napping in his crib alone without a swaddle =D> Please let this be a break through! Holding him or the car seat for naps has not been easy!! Fx

  • DD woke up at 4:30 after going to bed around 10pm, and went back to sleep at 6. We slept from 6:00-9:30, though my theory is that she actually may have woken up while I slept, stared at the ceiling fan from her bassinet, and went back to bed.

Then she napped from 10:45 through now. One Fish Two Fish packs a hell of a punch, I guess??

And my mom offered to babysit tonight.

    Am I being punked?

Being with my LO rocks! DD born 6/13/14.

  • We went to bark park and Tutka went swimming for the first time on her own! Murphy was chilling under a tree in the shade. It was a fun little adventure.
  • I'm home alone with LO today and got her fed, bathed, medicine administered (she has thrush) and swaddled & in bed by 8:30 and I'm now enjoying a big glass of wine and watching chopped before DH and my stepson get home. :)
