Hairy baby scrotum?

Ok, so I'm gonna ask our led in two weeks at his four month appointment, but Coe has like three clumps of blonde inch long hairs on his scrotum? Anyone else hear of this? Also, he has not made the slightest try to roll over and it seems like everyone is all, oh my baby is rolling everywhere! Coe....doesn't care. He also isn't batting or reaching for toys yet...I'm a little concerned about that one. Will be four months on the 21st

Re: Hairy baby scrotum?

  • I cant say for sure about the scrotum hair, but babies tend to have fuzz on their bodies. When LO was born he had some serious chops (sideburns), fuzz under his chin, and hair on his back like an old man at the beach! Much of it's gone now though.

  • LO is not rolling over at all yet but smiling and cooing like crazy. She is also giggling and lifting her head well so I'm not really concerned. Def bring it up with your ped though.

  • Also my LO hasn't rolled yet but he's really strong at tummy time so he's close and he rolls onto his side from his back a lot. I'm also a cabooser-LO four months on Monday. As a cabooser you always feel like your baby might be behind because there are people posting milestones from 4 weeks ahead of you. Also all babies develop different skills at different rates. I wouldn't worry unless your pediatrician is concerned.
  • DD2 rolled once, she hasn't done it since. Also no interest in toys or doing anything at all with them. She likes to suck boob, puke and eat her hands. End of story. But she is very very vocal, she will be 4months on the 14th. I don't know anything about the hairs.

This coming Monday, @knotty-girl‌ ? My LO will be 4 months this coming Monday (11th)

Yes, by way of counting weeks since he was born on a Monday. If I'm going by dates, not until the 21st I suppose, because he was born on the 21st.

  • I don't know about the hair but my 2 year old didn't roll until 6 months. It was NBD.

  • @jellysparkles Your use of gifs gets me all hot and bothered.

Unlike baby scrotal hair.  That'd land me on an RSO list.

  • Why is this title so damn funny to me?

  • Ok. Back. I only get to bump on pumping breaks.. He is cooing and socializing and we are cabooses. Coe was born on the 21st so kendracoleslaw I think you are right about seeing what all the other babies are doing and feeling behind. This hair thing isn't like, the fuzz that he had very young, it's like....long hair and not fine. It's goofy. Wonder what the pedi will have to say!
  • You'll probably fill out a developmental questionnaire at your appt that will address any red flags you have. But bring it up anyway if you're worried!

  • My little one will be 4 months on the 17th.

She doesn't generally roll more than onto her side although she's rolled belly to back and back to belly two or three times. I think she was able to because my house is old and the floors are slanted, lol.

She grabs her feet and toys and shoves things in her mouth ( including her feet)

Everyone is developing at their own pace.

The hair could hormonal? Sex hormone issue? Nothing. I don't know
  • When I was a baby my parents noticed some pubic hair so they brought me in to the doc--turns out I had nonclassic congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Not really a huge deal, but I did have to take steroids until age 12 or so. Typically it's not as big of a deal for boys as for girls either. There are two different kinds though and I had/have the mild kind. If he had the more serious kind it should have popped up in his newborn screening (at least they test for it in my state) so I wouldn't worry too much, just mention it to your ped.
