I know back sleeping is best for babies but what if they roll onto their bellies on their own during the night. Do I leave him? We are using the crib tonight so of course I am watching him like a hawk all night. He didn't have the room to roll like that in his bassinet. I have rolled him back to his side or back a couple times and he keeps ending up on his belly. We have a super firm mattress and just a fitted sheet and he is not swaddled. No loose blankets. Thanks!
Re: Dumb sleep question
When DS1 started doing this, I would always put him on his back if I saw him sleeping on his belly, but if he moved again and I wasn't aware of it, then he stayed that way. Considering you have a safe sleep environment, I would probably keep doing what you are doing. If you see it, put him on his back...but otherwise, no.
We also have the angel care monitor so it alerts me if the baby is to stop breathing, and I felt much better having that when he started sleeping on his belly. DS2 is still swaddled so we aren't dealing with this yet but this is what I can recall from my prior child.
